John pulls the squad into the spot next to the ambulance, sitting there for a moment thinking about Tracie. He just can't seem to get her off his mind. The way she looked, her shoulder length red hair, petite firm body and that tank top she had on underneath the opened flannel shirt, and how it outlined her curves and the ripped jeans that hugged her body in all the right places. How he towered over her when he was helping her to the ambulance, but he felt something that he hasn't felt before and it sort of scared him a little bit. He got out of the squad and headed inside and sees Roy standing at the nurses' station talking to Dixie and he walks towards them.

"Hey Dix. Roy, how's Tracie doing?" John asked, his face lighting up when he mentions her name. Roy sees the look in his eyes and knows exactly where this is going so he says, "She's doing ok. She has a couple of second-degree burns on her hand and foot. But it's not going to leave any scarring because she thought quickly by running the cold water over them." John smiles "Oh that's good. I'd hate to see her scared or anything, you know being that she is a cute. Plus she seemed like a nice girl and all." "John I know what you are thinking and I wouldn't go there if I was you, she didn't look like your type anyway." Roy says to him. He just shakes his head and says nothing. All he can do is think about her and the way she smelt as he helped her, a hint of citrus and flowers. Roy can see the look in his eyes and it's a look he has never seen before either. "Let's go John, we got to get back to the station. See you later Dix" Roy says. "Yeah sure, see ya later Dix." John says and waves bye to Dixie, who is just shaking her head.

Tracie comes out of the treatment room as John and Roy are walking down the hallway towards the entrance. She smiles at them and her eyes light up when she sees John, who towers over her. "I just want to say thanks again and I hope I didn't put you guys out or anything." She says to them. Roy answers her "It was no problem, and you didn't put us out at all. We were just doing our job" John grins, saying "You're welcome, it wasn't any trouble at all. Like Roy said, we were just doing our job." She turns and walks away, cursing herself for not saying anything else to him. John looks over his shoulder and their eyes lock for the last time before they exit the hospital.

John gets into the squad as Roy puts the drug box away and then walks around to the drivers' side and gets in. "John what is going on with you?" "I don't know what you mean Roy. ", He says, knowing exactly what he means. "You were like a schoolboy in there waiting for the most popular girl in school to make the first move. What is it with you?" Roy says to him. "John raises an eyebrow and just shrugs him off without answering, but he knows exactly what Roy is talking about because that is exactly how he was acting. He clammed up and got nervous when he saw her.

He couldn't form a complete and comprehensive sentence and that's not like him. But this girl though, she is different. She comes across as a tough girl on the outside, but he can see in her eyes though that she has been hurt before and that she just wants someone she can trust with her heart. John knows that he could be that person if she would give him a chance or if he could even get the balls up to ask her for her number.

Tracie is sitting in the back of the Uber on her way home and all she can do is think about John. How he looked at her with those piercing brown eyes, his dark hair, a little messy and how he looked in his uniform, tall and lean, with strong but gentle hands. Especially when they touched her, she just couldn't figure out what it was that gave her chills and made her feel the way she did. But she was like a little schoolgirl wanting a kiss from the most gorgeous guy in school. And to top it off he wasn't her type. John is clean cut, no tattoos from what she could see and he did have short sleeves on, his dark messy hair which wasn't too short but just right to where she could run her hands through it, compared to Tom who has a crew cut, a few tattoos, a muscular build and owns a masonry business that he started when they moved to LA from New York with her money. She felt that John had a tender and caring side to him, which she Tom didn't have. She also didn't realize she had found that attractive compared to Tom who is rough around the edges type of guy who can be mean at times. But then he can turn and be the sweetest guy in the world when he wanted to be. The car pulls up in front of her house and she get out to find Tom sitting on the front step.
