A thousand concrete lines
Littered with old cigarettes
A thousand leather boots
A network of footsteps
White blossoms of old gum
Blooming like lichen
Watched by the sun
As it travels miles across the sky
Illuminating truths and revealing lies
The pavement sees a thousand lives
Fleeting, passing,
hoping to survive
