Chapter 1

New York City

Caelith's P.O.V

I fly around lazily, looking for Chaotic Demons and whatnot. I'm also looking for just regular demons on the fringe. That's when I see her. The demon trying to possess a human to get the poor human to do what she wants. I land behind the human, startling her. I smile at the human, a man by the age of 40 and he walks away with no memory of the encounter.

"What, in the name of Heaven, were you trying to get that man to do for you?" I ask without even looking at her. "I was trying to get him to buy me that puppy for $200." she admits immediately. That's when I get a full look at her. She looks my age, just a little shorter with my color hair and sharp green eyes. I frown. "Hey... What's your name?" I ask her and she looks at me weird. "Kaelin... Kaelin Darkele Wilders. Why?" She fires back a question in return.

"Nothing... Just that you look a lot like me and you have my mom's eyes. No big deal. Just, uh... Just go home and don't do anything stupid, will ya?" I tell her and fly away to go switch shifts.

-Later at Home in Graceland-

I walk in the house carrying my shoes. I set them down just inside the hallway and mama comes up to me. "Hey, honey. How was your shift?" She asks me with a smile. "Well... I stopped a couple of demons, regulars, but one of them was strange..." I tell her. She and I sit down as she asks me, "Oh? How so, my little Prince?" "Well.... She had your eyes, my features but shorter.... And her name was Kaelin. Kaelin Darkele Wilders... And that's awfully close to my name, mama." I tell her. I look up to see her staring at me with a closed...almost far away look in her eyes.

"Mom... What's wrong? Is there something you're not telling me?" I ask her. She stands and motions for me to follow her, which I obey without question. She leads me into her sound proof, demon proof office and closes the doors. "Caelith.... This is gonna be hard to take in but..... That girl, Kaelin... She's your twin sister." she tells me. I look at her in disbelief but it all makes sense. "Why..? Why haven't you ever told me this?" I asked her, almost pleadingly.

"It happened a long time ago, when the Demons and Angels teamed up under a marriage truce. Your father... Is the King of Demons known as Kane. He's my mate and we still meet but we stay apart. You and Kaelin are the only reasons why we still cooperate and love each other." She explains to me.
