I walked out the cafeteria after he told the truth like nothing happened and then I went to the nurse she wrapped my hand around in bandages. Justin walked in holding his nose in tissues he sat in the chair next to me.
"Emma we need to talk." He just said it while still holding his nose.
"I'd rather not." I got up and walked out the nurse and headed straight to class until Jessica stopped me .
"Em, I'm so sorry I slapped you in the face. I thought that you really went behind my back and did that." Jessica said with a sad face.
"Jess don't worry about it,it's okay." I said while grabbing my hand.
"You really fucked him up didn't you?" She kept staring at my hand.
"Yea he messed with me and my best friend Hannah so he got what he deserved."
"I'll see you later jess and tell me if I made it on the team." I kept walking and went to class.
I got in class and everyone was staring at me. I didn't care I was just so pissed. The teacher called my name. "Ms.grey your needed in the office." I got up to leave and I felt eyes burning into my soul I grabbed the paper and walked down to the office Justin is sitting there with an ice pack. I sit down next to him waiting to be called. Justin stays quiet shaking his leg up and down and fidgeting with his fingers.
"Em, I wanna talk to you." He said while putting down the ice.
"I have nothing to say to you." I look away from him and still wait and then mr.porter the counselor comes out."you two in my office now." We both get up look at each other and go in.
"Why did you punch him Emma?"
"Well I think mr.foley here can explain it to you."
"Okay then Justin what happened."
" I made a rumor."
"What kind of rumor?"
Justin kept staring at the floor not answering mr. Porter.
"Mr. Foley what kind of rumor here are we talking about?"
Justin looks up at me and then mr.porter.
"This is bullshit why are you asking me this when she should be answering."
"First off i need you to watch your language, now I know what she did was wrong but she had to have a reason to punch you."
"Because this horn dog over here wanted to make a rumor saying that me and Hannah baker had a threesome with him." I interrupted mr. Porter
Mr. Porter news shocked then he looked at Justin disappointed.
"Justin is this true?"
"Yes."
"Why would you do that?"
"Well it's kinda personal can I tell Emma alone."
"I guess I'll just step out then." Mr. Porter got up and walked out the office.
"Emma I'm sorry I did that I really am."
"Then why'd you do it?"
"Well because I don't know I'm a dick I wanted to make you feel angrier."
"Emma lets talk about this over coffee at montés."
"Fine but it's just coffee."
After our conversation with Mr. Porter the day ended I went to my locker to get my stuff and I saw Jessica approach me with a big smile on her face.
"Emma,guess what!" She said while holding both of my hands.
"What?" I said with a confusion on my face.
"You made the cheer squad!"
"Wow really!"
"Yea so what are you doing after school us girls are going to the mall."
"Well I'm going to monéts after school."
"Can I join?"
"Sorry it's actually to speak to Justin."
She looked at me like if I had three heads.
"Justin? Why are you meeting him?"
"He wanted to speak to me. I think he's gonna give me a good explanation on why he did what he did."
"Okay."
"Are you guys still together?"
"Yes, we're still together why?"
"Oh listen I don't wanna be with him if that's what you thought but why after he did that rumor?"
"Listen I know it was a dickish move but--""
I cut Jessica off and said
"Jess it was a huge dick move."
" but he cares about me more than anyone ever did."
" well I gotta go."
