I wake up and find myself looking more and more like one of them. I've become more detailed and have no natural lighting.
I see it in the others as well. I can tell we are all scared. Or, at least I am. I've been feeling bad all day.
It's almost like sickness."We've been driving for hours! When are we gonna get there!?"
"Soon enough!"
"This is BORING!"
"I don't care!"
Murdoc has the lowest attention span of anyone I know.
This car ride has been long and boring. There's nothing interesting happening. Literally nothing.
If only there was something to skew us away from our path to further lengthen the story.
IF ONLY THER--
Suddenly, there's a popping noise.
573 looks down.
"The tires blew."
We stop next to an abandoned carnival.
"Hm. That's a dark and ominous abandoned carnival there."
"Yeah. And we're here at night, no less."
"Let's go in and look for some tires."
573 opens the truck of the car.
"I'll stay here in case help comes along."
"Alright."
We go in and look around.
"Well, it's definitely creepy."
"Perfect."
Noodle starts walking left.
"Come on."
"Shouldn't we split up?"
"Have you never watched horror movies? Or remember Popcaan's house?"
"Good point."
We all go left.
We look around for tires when we see a cart with one tire.
"Perfect! Russ, grab that."
He grabs the tire.
We keep going forward, this time, there are eerie voices. I start to notice a strange green glow over the whole carnival.
"I don't think we're getting any luckier."
"Have some faith, Murdoc."
"After what we've been through over the past 48 hours, it's kinda hard."
He's not wrong.
"At least stop vocalizing it, then."
We find a perfectly fine tire on an old tire game.
"We're not getting luckier, right Murdoc?"
"WHAT DO YOU GAIN FROM BEING A NASCENCE!?"
"Self esteem."
"Lots of it, clearly, ya' cocky bastard."
"You're the cocky one!"
"I'm better than to fight with you."
Jackass.
Russ takes the tire.
Suddenly, the whole place becomes a very bright green. The eerie voices become practically clear.
'He'll spin you around and around and around.'
'Just like a carnival game.'
They sound like little kids.
'He doesn't like trespassers.'
'The last three didn't have much fun.'
'You four remind us of them.'
Both boys and girls.
'Death is but a looming certainty.'
'Just like a carnival game.'
Now I'm truly scared.
The others seem to have an uneasiness about them as well.
I spot another tire.
"Russ! I--"
Suddenly, the carousel starts to go around. The music is disjointed in the worst way possible.
'Trespassing and stealing?'
'You're goners.'
'We hope you like carnivals.'
The voices start to become demonic.
'BECAUSE YOU'LL NEVER LEAVE THIS ONE.'
'TOUCH THE TIRE, AND HE'LL HAVE TO TAKE THIS MATTER INTO HIS OWN HANDS.'
Russ walks slowly to the tire.
'DON'T TEMP HIM.'
He reaches down for it.
'YOU WILL DIE.'
He clutches it.
'YOU MORTAL FOOLS!'
He picks it up. The voices got quiet again.
'I warned you. Good luck.'
The ground begins to shake. All the rides come to life like they were never dead. They go very fast, almost becoming bright blurs.
Suddenly, something grabs my arm and pulls me down. It's a zombie, rising from the ground.
'We told you.'
It lets me go.
There are countless zombies rising. We all huddle into a circle.
"Looks like these weapons are going to come in--"
Murdoc knocks the head off a zombie.
"Handy."
We all start attacking zombies. It seemed like every one we killed, two took its place.
Suddenly, a shadowy figure rises. It takes the form of the ghost of a human.
"You fools! I can't believe you thought you were getting away with stealing from ME, Anthony Hamilton, the Ghost Ring Leader!?"
Noodle shoots at him. The bullet goes right through him. He was unaffected.
"How are we gonna fight a ghost!?"
Russ lays on the floor.
"Del can."
He falls asleep. Del rises out of Russ.
"Waddup?"
"We need your help with him."
I point at Anthony Hamilton.
"What kinda help?"
"Distract him while we get away."
"I can do that."
He starts attacking Anthony Hamilton.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?"
"I'm attackin' you, man."
"DAMMIT!"
We start mowing down a path towards the fourth tire. Noodle is carrying Russ, so Murdoc and I have to defend them.
We reach the tire and Noodle puts it on top the Russ with the others.
We start headed toward the exit.
Before we reach it, the amount of zombies almost doubles.
"We won't reach the entrance!"
I see the cart.
"Noodle! Can you put the tires on the cart and start it up?"
"I can try."
Noodle runs ahead and puts Russ on the roof. She starts putting the tires on.
When Murdoc and I reach it, she's finishing the last tire.
"That was fast."
"You were slow."
"CAN WE JUST GO!?"
Noodle pops up.
"Not yet."
She sits in the driver's seat and tries to hit wire the cart. It's not working.
"What's wrong?"
"I don't know."
She goes in front and pops the hood. She begins to meddle with the engine.
The zombies get closer and closer.
"Hurry! They're almost here!"
"I'm hurrying!"
Murdoc kills a zombie that reached us.
"HURRY FASTER!"
Murdoc hits the cart. It turns on. Noodle gets in and starts driving towards the exit.
"We're gonna make it!"
We leave the carnival, waking up Russ. Del goes back into Russ's body.
"What happened!? Did we make it!?"
"We're fine!"
"Thank god."
Noodle takes the tires off the cart and gives them to 573.
"Here."
"Thank you. These are perfect."
"They better be."
"What happened in there?"
"Zombies, ghosts, and zombie ghosts, probably."
"Oh."
He replaces the tires and we get going.
We're on a mountain side.
"Are you guys okay?"
"Mostly."
"Good. I'm sorry."
"For what?"
He drives off the road.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?"
"My job."
"NO! PLEASE!"
"It's too late."
Noodle knocks 573 out. She throws him out the side of the car and takes the driver's seat. She brakes the car and saves us. 573 keeps toppling down.
"We have to walk."
