Rae didn't know what was going on, or what she should do, but she knew she couldn't let it get too out of hand. After all, look what happened to Romeo and Juliet.

Rae turned the key to open the front door of her modest house, only to be attacked by a flurry of floppy ears, barks, and fur as her five dogs ran towards her to greet her, each in their own way.

Newt, a Miniature pinscher, was the most daring of all the dogs, and therefore attempted to launch himself into her arms as a blur of black fur, which resulted in her dropping her keys on the floor in order to catch him.

Pixie, a Chihuahua mutt, was the most-well, most. There weren't really any adjectives to describe her, unless one was using the words fawn to describe her coat, and black to describe her tail. Pixie was jumping up and down near Rae and wagging her tail so hard it caused her whole body to wiggle along with it.

Kona, a Tibetan spaniel with white fur that had brown spots, was the oldest of all the dogs, yet she still acted like a puppy; jumping at Rae's legs to say hello. Kona was her first dog, and they had a lot of shared memories.

Wylan, a Whippet with grey fur, was the calmest and most patient of all the dogs; waiting by the door to be let out for a run. He was big, so she and her father had tried to teach him early to be a good dog.

Titan, a Russian Bull Mastiff Pyrenees mix that had a brown and black tiger-striped coat, is the most shy out of all of them, and he thinks that he is the smallest; trying to jump into her arms along with Newt. This thinking also causes him to be scared of everything. For a while, he had barked when the toaster popped.

"Good to see you guys too! Do I have a story to tell you guys or what! Just give me one second to change." Rae put down Newt, and let all the other dogs run outside to the two-acre fenced lot outside her home. She dropped her book bag near the dining room table so that she could work on her Calculus homework later, and ran up the stairs into her bedroom, where she changed into some running shorts, a sports bra, and a purple dri-fit shirt. She grabbed her phone and speaker, and went downstairs- slower this time as to not drop anything.

When she got outside, she connected her phone to the speaker, and started playing her favorite playlist that included songs ranging from Katy Perry and Kelly Clarkson to My Chemical Romance and Metallica. When that was done, she jogged to center of the lot, where all the dogs were waiting.

Midway, she burst into a sprint at Wylan, who responded with a short play-bow, then started running away from her. He wasn't going his full speed, of course, but he was going fast enough to get the energy out. Pixie and Titan were running around with her, while Newt and Kona were playing around by themselves. Kona didn't like running with the big dogs, and Newt preferred to play fight with a dog closer to his size.

Rae did this nearly everyday. She had dogs that required physical exercise, and there was no way she could take all five of them on walk, or even two of them on a walk at the same because of how much they play-fight with each other. There wasn't enough time in the day to take each of them on separate walks, so she started just running around with them in their backyard, and had added the music in a little while after that. The dogs seemed to love it, as afterwards when they were all tired, they went inside and formed what her father refers to as a "cuddle therapy session", where they all lay down next to each other and Rae talks about her day to them.

Since a Whippet was built for speed and not endurance, Wylan tired out at about thirty minutes, and went to go lay down on the patio. Pixie joined him, jumping on top of him to lay down on his stomach. Wylan didn't mind, of course. Pixie was always laying on something, as she refused to sleep on the floor like a normal dog.
