The sun's blazing rays beat down on my sweat covered forehead as I stood at attention giving my heart. I looked around at the trainees in there rows. Commander Shadis walked along the rows, skipping a few cadets and then intimidating the poor soul who looked like an easy pick. That was all stopped due to a girl who happened to be standing directly in front of me. She was sadly one of the poor souls, but what was worse was the fact that she was eating a freshly baked potato. Shadis towered over her, and soon sent her to run laps, she didn't really seem to care until he banned her from going to dinner for the night. Once he had said that all the colour left her face and she seemed to have the life sucked out of her due to his words.
I sighed whispering under my breath 'Potato Girl' , sadly that reached the ears of Commander Shadis. His face had a permanent scowl. I was now one of the poor souls.
"Cadet?" His words boomed in my ears.
"...Sir?" My questioning tone made his features darken.
"Name and District" his demanding voice made my eyes glisten with tears.
"(F/N) (L/N), Shiganshina Districts, Sir."
many heads turned their attention to me, I shifted under Shadis and the other cadets gazes. Shadis turned and continued walking down the rows now ignoring me. The rest of the cadets that were staring at me turned their attention to the front once again giving their hearts. We were all soon dismissed.
I Headed back to my cabin ignoring everyone who tried to talk to me. I reached my cabin and climbed the steps and opened the old wooden door. It made a long creaking sound as I opened it. All the girls in the room turned their attention towards me then looked away and continued chatting as if I had never been there.
I walked over to a bunk claiming it as mine, and layed on the bottom bunk. I had chosen this one due to it being in the back of the room, right by the corner. A blacked haired girl with a red scarf came up to my bunk with a bag in hand. She threw it on the top bunk and climed up and layed down. I sighed and moved to the end of my bed and grabbed my bag. I reached in it and pulled out my normal clothing. A plain white dress and a (F/C) cover up. I pulled out my Brown lace up boots. I looked around the room before standing up and changing.
'Most of the girls had already changed out of their uniforms' I quickly changed and laced up my boots and walked out of the room, but not before I grabbed my special book and tucked it under my arm. I walked on the small railed patio inching closer to a small worn porch swing and sat on it pushing my feet off the ground as I slowly began to swing. I opened my book titled 'Earth' and flipped through the pages until I found the familiar page with big words that read 'Ocean'. Excitement filled my being and I slightly giggled and began to read. I hummed in content. My eyes lighting up at the thought of breathing in the ocean air, and feeling the cool breeze. Being free from these walls. A small rare smile graced my features as I continued to hum in content unknowing of the enticing emerald eyes staring at my figure.
