Cat's POV
I woke up to my two best friends jumping up and down on the couch. Last night, after we were done squeeling, we decided to watch the boys' movie This Is Us. Mel and Soph had slept over.
"Uggggh." I groaned. "Gerroff meh." I said into the pillow.
"Nope! Not til you get up so that we can shop for the perfect 1D concert outfit!" They screamed in unison.
I shot straight up out of the couch at those words, pushing the girls onto the floor, and sprinted to my room. When I got there, I quickly brushed through my hair, threw on some jean shorts and a random tank top, and put my hair into a high pony-tail.
When I got to the bottom of the steps again, Mel and Soph were still on the ground.
"Come on you lazy butts! We've got shopping to do!" I yelled at them.
"I left you some money on the counter honey! Share it with Melanie and Sophie!" I heard my mom call from upstairs.
"Thanks mom!" I called back. "By the way, I ain't sharing this money." I whispered to Soph and Mel while I grabbed the $50 bill off the kitchen counter.
"No need. We have our own." Mel said while both of them waved their own $50 bills in front of my face.
We decided to stop at Starbucks first to get some breakfast. When we sat down at the booth, Mel started talking.
"Guys, we have to tell our parents about the tickets today." she said.
"Yes. But we have to do it very nicely. Don't spend all your money today. Um... we should also be super nice for the rest of the day. Then, right as she says she's going to bed, sit your mom down on the couch and tell her." Soph said.
"Wow, Soph. You've really thought this out, haven't you?" I laughed.
Soph just blushed. Okay, hold the phone. That is the second time she's acted shy around her two best friends. I gotta find out why.
"Sophie Anne Fredricks. Why are you being so shy around us? You must tell us. Now." Mel demanded. She must've read my mind.
Sophie sighed and placed her iced coffee om the table. "I've been keeping a secret." she said softly. "You know Nate?"
"Yeah. I think. Isn't he that really really hot kid we graduated with?" I asked.
Soph blushed again before clearing her throat and continuing. "Yeah, well, um, we've kinda been... um... hanging out and... um... heaskedmeoutonadateandIkeepbeingshycuzI'mnervous." she said, rushing the last part.
"What?" Mel and I asked in unison.
Soph sighed again. "Nate asked me out and I'm really nervous about it so I'm kinda practicing blushing and stuff." she said.
I burst out laughing and so did Mel. Soon we were getting weird stares from everyone in Starbucks.
"What?" Soph asked defensively. "What is it?"
Mel and I sobered up our laughter and I wiped an imaginary tear from my eye.
"Babe, you can't practice stuff like that." I said, still laughing slightly to myself.
"Well I'm sorry. It's not like I would know that." Soph huffed, crossing her arms in front of her.
"We know. Whatever. Lets get some shopping done." Mel said. We got up and started walking to the mall.
"OMG!!! I'M GOING INTO FOREVER 21 FIRST!!!" Soph screamed.
Mel and I just laughed as Sophie ran down the mall towards Forever 21.
