Chapter 14

Cat's POV

After I had calmed down, Soph walked back into the room. She smiled softly at me.

"C'mon. Clean yourself up and get dressed then meet us in the living room." She said, soon pulling Mel out of the room with her.

I laughed a little, trying to cheer myself up. Then I stood up and walked to the bathroom. When I walked in, I looked in the mirror and fully realized how terrible I looked. My hair was one big mess and I had huge bags under my eyes, which were red and puffy.

I quickly ran a brush through my tangled hair and turned on the shower. Soon I was under the hot water singing my favorite song of the moment.

"He knows about you in every way
He's memorized every part of your face

Yea he knows everything there is to know

The songs that you sing when you're all alone

Before I was in the shower for too long, I stopped singing and got out. I wrapped a towel around my body and went back to my room. From there, I went through all my drawers until I found a pair of knee length shorts and my hunger games T-shirt. Then I put some concealer on to cover the bags under my eyes.

Before I could do anything else make-up wise, Mel knocked on my door. "Hurry up. We're hungry out here!"

I laughed and rolled my eyes, standing up to walk out the door. When I walked into the living room, I saw five faces I hadn't seen in over a month.

"GUYS!" I screamed smiling and running over to them and giving them a big group hug.

They all laughed and hugged me back.

"Wait. You didn't know we were here?" Niall asked. "I thought Liam was gonna tell you guys?"

"Well I told Sophie, and then something came up..." Liam trailed off, looking from me to the floor.

I gave him a weird look before realization set in. My jaw dropped to the floor. I looked at the girls and they both gave me sympathetic smiles.

I turned back to Liam and spoke. "Liam, can I talk to you for a sec?" I asked.

He gulped and nodded, standing up to follow me into the kitchen.

"How much of it did you hear?" I asked quietly.

"Well, I heard you scream and then I heard when Sophie was comforting you." He whispered back.

I sighed. "Okay." I said.

"Wait, you're not mad at me for snooping?"

"Not really. I would've too had our roles been reversed. Just please don't tell the other guys."

"I wouldn't dream of it." He promised. I nodded and started to walk out, but Liam grabbed my arm. "And if you ever wanna talk about it, I'm here for you."

I smiled at him and hugged him before walking back to the other boys.

Niall's POV

I was watching Liam and Cat talk in the kitchen while everyone else carried on with their own conversations.

I saw Cat nod and start to walk away when Liam grabbed her arm. I clenched my fists and gritted my teeth. Then she smiled at him and they hugged before walking back to join the rest of us.

Cat sat directly across from me next to Melanie and Liam resumed his spot on the couch. I was starting off into space with my fists and jaw still clenched.

Cat looked at me like she was concerned and I took a deep breath.

Calm down, Niall. I thought to myself. Cat and Liam were just talking. Besides, we're all friends here.

But strangely, I couldn't seem to get the image of Cat smiling while she hugged Liam out of my head...
