Cat's POV
"Melanie! Sophie! Get out of those dressing rooms! NOW!" I yelled.
"We're coming. Jeez." I heard Mel say.
My two best friends walked out of the dressing room dressed in their normal clothes.
"Ugh. I'm never gonna find the perfect outfit to wear backstage!" Soph complained. Today we had decided to go shopping again because the outfits we picked for the concert weren't good enough to wear backstage to meet the boys.
"I know right!" Mel said.
I thought for a minute. "Ooh!" I squealrd, starting to jump up and down. "I have a phenominiall idea!"
"Tell us!" Mel said.
"Okay, so we get custom made t-shirts with collages about ourselves on them." I suggested.
"What does that mean?" Soph asked quizzically.
I sighed dramatically. "It means that we gather a bunch of pictures of ourselves and make a collage the size of a shirt. Then we make one for the back. We could put our names on them and everything. Ooh! Neon colors! After that, we bring them to that custom design t-shirt place and get the collages printed on the shirt."
The girls stared at me in shock. "That is..." Soph said in disbelief.
"The best idea ever!" Mel finished for her. "How'd you think of that?"
I shrugged. "I dunno. I just did. You guys know it'll be expensive though, right?"
They nodded. "Well duh! That's a lot of stuff to put on a t-shirt. Luckily, we've got stuff saved up."
After that, we decided to go home anf get our collages ready. We hopped into Mel's car and started driving to Soph's house.
When Soph got out of the car, Mel started talking. "So, tell me about Niall winking at you."
"Crap. I thought you forgot about that." I said.
"Nope. Now tell me." she responded.
"Well, Liam gave me the envelope after he thanked me for saving their butts from the crazy fangirls. Then as I took the envelope, Niall looked at me and winked before going back with the boys." I explained. "It was nothing really."
"WHAT!" Mel screamed. "IT WAS NOT 'nothing' YOUNG LADY! THE NIALL HORAN FREAKIN WINKED AT YOU!"
I just sighed dreamily. "I know." Mel seemed to get that there was no more explaining to be done and stopped talking.
When we got to my house, I jumped out and ran straight to my room.
"You have one hour! Then I'm cominh to pick you up!" I heard Mel call.
I gathered all my favorite pictures of Mel, Soph, and I and threw them onto my bed. Then I ran downstairs and grabbed a piece of poster board, scissors, markers, and glue.
I sprinted back to my room and cut the poster board into two pieces that would fit on a t-shirt.
I wrote my name in the middle, then drew a bunch of stuff that I liked. I wrote "Books" on the bottom (because I love to read), "Music" on the right (because music is my escape from the real world), "Being Lazy" on the left (that is self explanatory), and "ONE DIRECTION" on the top (for very obvious reasons that you should have figured out by now).
After that was finished, I filled in a bunch of the empty spaces with random doodles and words that popped into my head.
Soon, I had moved on to the other piece of poster board that would be on the back of the shirt. I grabbed a few random pictures of the girls by themselves and glued them on, doodling around them.
For the final touch, I grabbed the second best picture I had of all three of us.
The picture was taken last summer. We had convinced our parents to let us drive out to my grandparents' beach house for two weeks. My grandparents had gone to Vermont on vacation for a week and just extended their vacation for us.
Mel, Soph, and I were around the bonfire ud and a few new friends of ours had made. We were laughing like crazy and one of the people across from us (I don't remember who) had taken my camera.
They took the picture and gave it to back for me to look at. I instantly loved it, and it's been my second favorite ever since.
I breathed out a heavy breath and rolled onto my heels, looking at my 'creation' with approval.
I looked at the clock and sighed. 3:25. It only took me 25 minutes to make the perfect shirt.
Suddenly, I heard the sound of a car horn out front. I grabbed my posters and ran to the front door.
Mel and Soph were out there in Mel's car, waiting not-so-patiently for me to get in.
"C'mon!" Soph complained through the open window. "The t-shirt place closes at 4:15! We gotta go!"
I sprinted out to the car, not bothering to shut the door behind me. My mom was home, I'm sure she could handle it.
We drove down to the t-shirt place at top speed. I'm pretty sure we almost broke the speed limit. Heck, I know we broke the speed limit. But, we didn't get caught.
I looked at Mel's and Soph's posters. All of ours were fairly similar, and we all had the same picture from the bonfire on it.
Luckily, the t-shirt place was still open, and it wasn't as expensive as we had thought. It was only $10 per picture and $10 for the overall doodling and writing.
When Mel dropped me off at my house that night, I walked into my room and fell asleep with a satisfied grin on my face.
