Cat's POV

I sat on the couch, dumbfounded. What just happened?

~Moments earlier~

I took a deep breath. "Mel, Soph, and I got One Direction tickets for the concert next week."

Mom just looked at me and shrugged. "Okay. I'm off to bed now. Goodnight, Cathrine." she said as she leaned over to kiss my cheek.

~Back to the Present~

My mom was ok with this? How? Why? Most importantly: WHAT!? I texted Mel and Soph.

*guys I just told my mom abt the tix and all she said was: okay*

From: Soph

*Same thing here girl*

From: Mel

*Same here. I wonder what's up with them...*

To: Mel & Soph

*Ikr. We gotta talk to them again tomorrow*

When they both agreed, I decided to go to bed. I walked into my room and layed on my bed, falling into an uneasy sleep.

~Next Day~

I woke up on the floor. How did that happen? I decided not to dwell on it and got up.

I dressed in a beautiful blue floral blouse with a white cami underneath. I threw on some jean shorts that ended just above my knee and combed through my mess of hair.

Mom was making breakfast when I got downstairs. Pancakes, mmm.

"Can we talk, Mom?" I asked.

"Sure honey. What is it?" she responded without turning around.

"It's about the concert tickets."

She sighed. "Can we talk about this later? Your aunt, uncle, grandparents, and cousins are coming today, and I really need to focus on the state of the house." She only turned around once while telling me this, and that was when she had to grab the eggs off the counter.

I didn't answer, just walked up to my room and groaned into my pillow. I loved my relatives, but I really needed to talk about those tickets. I was expecting her to freak out, but she didn't, and it made me feel like she was up to something.

I called Mel and put her on speaker while I paced back and forth in my room.

"I seriously don't know what to do, Mel!"

"Well, first you should stop pacing back and forth."

I stopped pacing and laughed. "You know me so well."

"Yeah, I know. Now, enjoy your family time and figure it out later. My mom told me that all our moms wanted to talk to us together."

"Mel, how can I 'enjoy my family time' when the days leading to the concert are slowly winding down!?" I said, my voice getting louder with each word.

"Dude, hush. Our moms are gonna hear you and freak."

"Honey! Your family is hear!" My mother yelled from downsrairs.

"Sounds like you gotta go. Have fun." Mel hung up after that.

I groaned again and went downstairs, putting a fake smile on my face.

"Hey, sweetheart!" my gradma said.

"Hi, Nanny. Hi, Pappy." I said to my grandparents.

"How's it going Stray Cat?" my uncle asked me. He's called me 'Stray Cat' for as long as I can remember.
