Alice and Paul took a bus back to Arnold Grove, she was was relief that Paul wasn't mad with her because she was annoying. Yet she was a bit displeased that George didn't tell her about Amanda, and even more displeased that George had an Amanda and kissed Alice.
Am I jealous? Alice thought, kind of surprised that she could feel that way about a boy who she grew up with. Nah.
Paul had one arm around Ali, sitting by the window, watching the buildings and trees zooming away. He felt kinda relaxed now that Alice knew about George's girlfriend, he was hoping that it would make she gave up on him.
The bus stop was two blocks away from Alice's street so they had to walk. When they were about to walk around the corner of Arnold Grove, Alice saw the figure of George sitting on her doorstep. She immediately pulled Paul back to behind the corner before the boy could see him.
"What you doing?" Paul laughed, walling her.
What was she doing? Should she tell him she didn't want George to see them together? No! Definitely not! Paul would think she liked his friend!
She was thinking on a good excuse, but she ended not needing any since Paul's lips had enclosed hers. Three kisses in less than a month! That was more than she had had on her entire life!
The girl caught herself kissing back, hands resting on his soft chubby cheeks. Every inch of her body seemed to fly, giving her a sensation of electricity that wouldn't fade away. And Paul wasn't feeling different: why she attracted him that much?!
Paul pulled away, remembering of something.
"Alice" he said, out of breath "you know, me, my brother and my father, we are going to the mountains, to see the snow. We are staying there for two days. And I'd love to take you with us" he said stroking her cheek, why he was saying that before consulting his father he didn't know, but he was sure Jim would comprehend.
And why he felt this need to have Alice near him all the time?
"I don't know, Paul" she sighed, "We don't even know each other, this is just our second date!"
"I know, love, but it will be in a week, we can have a lot of dates till there" he tried hopefully. The lady looked down, not sure of what to reply.
Paul gave her a peck on the lips.
"Please" he smiled. Alice let out a smile too.
"Uh" she reclined.
"Please" Paul insisted with another peck.
Alice didn't reply again, what meant no.
"Please" one more peck.
Alice started giggling as he pecked her continually, repeating the same pleading.
The lady, laughing, with both hands held Paul's face away from hers, he smiled and continued kissing the air.
"Okay, okay, I'll answer you tomorrow" she said laughing loudly as he tried to approach their lips, pushing his own face forwards "Now leave me alone!"

George glanced at his watch. He had been sitting there for half an hour, waiting for Alice. Her grandmother told him she went out with a very charming folk but she'd be back soon, so he sat and waited.
His eyelids, after a while, started getting heavy and drooped over his eyes, his head rested against the door comfortably, he was feeling so numb.
"George?" a voice made him jump high, his eyes opened wide, all of sudden. He stood up swiftly, making he feel a bit dizzy. "What you've been doing here?" Alice asked, letting out a giggle.
"I" he started, for a moment he forgot all the things he knew, he blinked a few times and then he was able to answer "I'm going to get some ice-cream, would you like to come with me?"
"Sure!" Alice replied, that would be a great opportunity to tell him.
And ask him about you-know-who.
They walked together to Penny Lane, that wasn't very far from their houses. As they walked down the street flashes of her childhood zoomed on her mind. Everything seemed so familiar, yet so different. And being with a grown up version of her childhood crush wasn't helping.
They arrived the ice cream shop and, for the the lady's surprise, the guy behind the counter was the same old man that asked is George and her were together so many years ago. She wondered how many years he had. A lot, was her conclusion.
"Two ice creams, sir" George said handing the elder some money. The man took it, not taking his eyes off the couple. He looked closely to them and turned around frowning and murmuring "so familiar!".
George and Alice bit their lips to keep themselves from laughing too hard. The man turned back to the kids and gave them their respective ice creams, still with the frowning look.
They went outside to sit at a little round table, while taking their ice creams.
After some minutes chatting and laughing, George finally had the heart to ask:
"When was you going to tell me about Paul?" the lad asked, looking down at his vanilla ice cream.
Alice let out a little gasp, how did he know that!
"Actually I was going to tell you now" she sighed. Some weird seconds of silence passed. "When was you going to tell me about Amanda?"
George's eyes almost popped out when he heard that name. He looked up at Alice with a surprise look on his face.
Amanda! How could I forget! Jesus!, he thought ghastly, she had been his girlfriend for two months! But since the day he sat his eyes on Alice that name had vanished from his head. It took some seconds of horror until George remember she was traveling. He breathed in relief.
"George?" Alice, who've been watching his moment of shock, asked worried.
"We are friends. Let's promise to tell everything to each other. Everything" he said, avoiding to talk about the girlfriend he had forgotten.
Alice nodded worried. "Yes, sure" she concerned frowning.
"So" George said, trying to look more relaxed "is there something I must know?"
"Uh" Alice thought for a moment "It was me who ate your last biscuit that day, not Paul".
George looked at her to see if she was being serious and when he notice she was he broke on laughter. Alice started laughing too. And both of them laughed madly for about five minutes and when the laughter died Alice asked:
"What about you? Do you have something to tell me?"
George held his breath and looked at Alice.
"Actually I do" he murmured.
"What's it?" she smiled innocently.
"I'm kind of in love with you" he sighed.
Alice chocked. What?!
And when she realized she actually liked that, she decided it was a good thing to accept Paul's offer to travel with him.
