Alice picked at her nails nervously while watching her boyfriend leave her best friend's house. Her eyes followed the folk until he disappeared around the corner.
The girl immediately jumped out of her bed and rushed downstairs, through the front door and across the icy street. She knocked the door several times but in less than two seconds it was open.
George's surprised eyes met hers. He was about to say hi when she spat her own words out.
"You didn't tell him, did you?" she breathed.
"Tell who and what?" George scratched the top of his head.
"Did you tell Paul, well, you know..." Alice murmured uncomfortable. Just the thought of what she was doing to her precious boyfriend disgusted her.
"Oh" her neighbor exclaimed raising his eyebrows "Here, let's go upstairs" the boy closed the door behind Alice and the kids ran upstairs.
"Please tell me you didn't tell him" Alice said nervously after the bedroom door was also closed.
"Of course I didn't Ali, am no mad" George walked up to the girl and wrapped his arms around her waist.
Alice tried to break free from the boy's hug but George was already squeezing her tightly.
"Relax, okay? He'll never know" the lad tried to comfort his friend.
He's right, Alice thought. And it was way better that one didn't knew than the other get hurt.
Alice breathed few times trying to calm down. "Thank you Geo" she murmured against his chest. The boy gave a little kiss on the top of the young lady's head.
Cheating on her beloved boyfriend wasn't right, but leaving the one she loved sad wasn't good either. How could she simply choose one of them?
Well, different strokes for different folks, Paul was way sweeter than George and he knew how to make Alice feel loved. But George - oh George - he knew her like no one else, and his hugs felt like heaven.
Alice shut her eyes feeling George's warm breath on her skin. God save us from love.
