Rain with no flowers reprise | part one

Narrator

"They are after me, you guys should get to the Tardis and I'll stay behind."

"No, we are not doing that," the Doctor said.

"Why not it's the righ-"

The Doctor cut off Gaby, "Gabriella Rain if you think leaving you behind is the right thing you are wrong."

His voice was so intense that Gaby stopped talking. They continued running and they finally made their way to the Tardis.

"Okay it's over now," Rory mumbled.

The Doctor ran around the the Tardis council. "Technically yes, actually no."

"What's going on," Amy asked?

"Well they're tracking 'Ella because she's well I'm not sure but she's something."

Gaby froze, "you know! I mean I was going to tell you but I wasn't sure how and--"

"I scanned you with the sonic screwdriver and it came as inconclusive."

"I-I'm not a hundred percent sure all I know is that I was in the time gap for 1,ooo years and that I'm supposed to do something." Gaby explained.

"I assumed that much," he stated still running around the Tardis. "Well we could--" he cut himself off, "never mind."

"What? Was it," Gaby questioned?

The Doctor shook his head, "Ella, no."

"Tell me."

"I will tell you but it's not going to happen." Gaby staid silent. "There is an available time gap that is difficult to open. It is rarely available and I'm not sure if the Tardis can go in and out. Besides you'd have to be in there for a long, long time before they assumed you dead."

"That's a great idea," Gaby said.

"You will be in there, all alone in silence simply staring at an empty white abyss. You'll go insane!"

"I believe that you will find a way to get me back before I go insane," Gaby said.

The Doctor was becoming more and more irritated. His voice broke as he said, "but you will be gone."

"And I'll be back."

The Doctor closed his eyes for a moment. "Please," another crack, "don't make me do this."

Gaby realized that even though this was right she was hurting him. "I'm not making I'm asking."

He wanted to say no. He was going to say no, but he knew how this would end. He knew this was her best shot.

He quickly kissed her forehead. "I will come back for you."

"I know."

Before she left Gaby handed the Doctor her grandmother's ring.

"You don't need to--"

"I do."

There were no words to express the tragedy of it all. Amy and Rory had sadly said a goodbye and the Doctor was mad at himself. The whole thing was devastating.

Let me let you in on a secret, this isn't the first time the Doctor lost her.
