(Nya wasn't the water ninja, Cole wasn't a ghost and they live in that little house beside Steep Wisdom)

"Brother, you need to calm down", Zane said to Jay who were walking back and forth in the kitchen.

It bothered the ice ninja that his teammate was in distress and the pacing made it harder to concentrate on what he actually was saying.

"But I can't, Zane!", Jay exclaimed and made hand gestures as he spoke, still pacing. "Nya has been thinking about quitting the team and I'm the only one who knows about this, plus you of course since I just told you. And everyone is picking fights with each other, especially with me!"

Zane gave him a look. "Okay, maybe not you but you're always calm and quiet which really reminds me of sensei Wu by the way"

Jay shook his head before he cursed himself for getting of topic. He then continued his rant. "Like for example everyone's stealing my pudding nowadays, even Kai sometimes and he doesn't even like vanilla pudding! Cole does it the most but I'm used to that, but that Kai does that sometimes really surprised me since he was the one who always let me have his cup when mine was stolen. Oh and when I'm trying to help someone out of a fight I somehow always get tangled into them! Yes, I've a big mouth but sometimes it feels like that they want to fight with each other!"

"I think it's because there have been low on crimes and missions lately and that we spend most of our time fixing our tea shop instead of training", Zane said. "They're itching to go into battle which leads to this"

"I've been itching too so maybe I shouldn't just blame them", Jay admitted thoughtfully and stopped pacing. He then smiled thankfully at Zane. "Thanks for listening, it really helped me in a stressful situation like this"

"You're welcome, and you can always come to me if there's anything you want to talk about", Zane said kindly before Jay left the room.

"I'll remember that!"

After Jay left Zane sunk down in the wooden chair he sat on, realizing what he just said and tried to process all the information given to him.

Time skip the next day

"I know what I'm doing okay?"

"You're going to screw it u-, look what you've done!"

"Ey, Zane?"

Zane went up to Kai and Cole who were trying to fix the TV. "Yes?"

"Cole messed up the tv!", Kai whined.

"I did not!", Cole defended himself. "I just tried to fix the colors!" (I've had a problem with the colors thing in the past and it bugged me so much!)

Zane ignored their small fight and went to fix the TV problem. Jay was trying to stay out of trouble which he said earlier today when Lloyd accidentally threw salami at his face, as his real target was Kai, and they started arguing. What Nya was up to Zane didn't know, she only appeared when there was something important going on. Lloyd was probably planning revenge but Zane was not sure since he hadn't seen him since this morning. At last the issue was fixed and the screen turned to normal.

"Done", Zane announced shortly and turned around to the two, or one who sat on the sofa. "Where's Kai?"

"I don't know, I don't care", Cole shrugged with a smug smirk. "Now give me that thing before he comes back"

Zane sighed and tossed the remote control to Cole before he left him alone by sitting down on a chair at the corner of the room and started to read a book.

Suddenly a loud, high-pitched beeping sound echoed trough their home and the two boys jolted up in surprise and alarm. It wasn't a new mission as far as Zane could tell, it was-

"FIRE!!!"

Lloyd bolted into the room as he screamed this. "Zane! I need your help!"

Zane quickly ran after the panicked Lloyd as he led him upstairs. But on their way up Zane saw something on the floor. He analyzed the liquid and felt his mechanic heart beat quicker. It was gasoline, and it was all over the stairs and up.

"Zane, hurry!", Lloyd pleaded until he saw Zane's face. "What's wrong?"

"Run!", Zane yelled and pulled Lloyd's wrist out of there. Behind him were Cole and Nya, but no sight of Kai and Jay.

When they've run a fairly long distance from their house Lloyd started to shout. "What the heck was that abo-?!"

But before he had the chance to finish his sentence there was a loud fireball-looking explosion behind them. As they turned around their home was in flames. Lloyd and Cole just stared at it with mouths wide open, too shocked to even do a proper reaction while Nya covered her mouth with her hands, horror in her eyes.

"No... nononononono", she chanted quietly breathlessly. "Kai where are you?"

"Oh. My. Gosh", Zane turned around and saw Jay who just got out of Steep Wisdom, their tea shop, with his working uniform on. Sensei Wu and Misako were just behind him.

"What happened?", sensei Wu asked, shocked.

"Oh no...", Misako trailed off, staring wide eyed at the house on fire.

After 30 seconds or so Jay exclaimed, "Why is everyone just standing here!?"

Zane snapped out off the paralysis and called the fire department.

Time skip 3 hours

Zane and the others walked around to see if there was any sign of fire left along with the firemen when he saw someone with mayor fire damages. He ran up to to that person and checked his pulse.

None.

He checked his breathing.

Nothing.

He was dead. It was a wonder that his body wasn't charcoal by now but Zane didn't focuse on that at the moment. He tried to hold back the tears in his eyes but one teardrop fell on the corpse' s scar that ran trough his left eye.

'The fire could not be an accident', Zane thought. 'But why would somebody do this?'

Who is the murderer?
