let me tell you about Oregon mornings

-when you wake up early and the sky is a gorgeous dusty blue
-when you wake up late and you see the last streaks of purple fading into gray
-the dim buzz of traffic mixed with birds calling
-wind is blowing but not in any particular direction
-the cool bite of air as you step outside and how that wind pushes at your back
-the subtle feeling of frost under your feet, bending to your shape and refreezing
-when you run, and the clouds run with you, slowly breaking up the gray mass to reveal hints of baby blue

Oregon mornings by the beaches are the best because you lazily open your eyes to the distant sound of waves, and with how your blanket is positioned, you feel the perfect temperature. Your papa's dog scratches outside the door and you let her in, so now you stare at the ceiling of the bunk bed with a giant dog cuddled next to you until the sound of sizzling pancake batter reaches your ears
