Zoey's POV
In the brief time before the race started I walked over to the Harrington's side and talked with Joey.
"Joey!" I exclaim before he got into the car. He stops and looks down at me.
"Yeah, come to wish me luck?" He asks, "although. . ." He looks back at Uncle D, who was struggling to find a door handle to the car. "I don't think I'll really need it."
I cringe and turn away from my family to face Joey. "Actually I was here to apologize for not rooting for you in this, but there is just to much on the line for us and. . . "
"It's alright." Joey tells me, ruffling my hair and putting on his helmet. "No hard feelings, but don't think I'll go easy on your uncle over there."
I smile and nod, "didn't expect you to, have fun Joey."
With that I walk back to my side of the track where Chase was pouting.
"So. . .?" He asks, "what was that all about?"
I couldn't help but grin at Chase's adorable jealous face. I reach up and mess with his hair. "Nothing you need to worry about." I tell him and with that we were ready to race.

Sometime during the race, Claton came over.
"So where are you guys planning on moving?" He asks, his snobby voice as annoying as ever.
"Well, my gut says Cleveland, but I'm an Indiana man at heart." Adam says, and I shake my head, standing next to Leo.
"We're not going to loose!" I tell him and he just smirks.
"Yeah, Claton, we're gonna win." Leo backs me up and Claton speaks.
"Sure, keep telling yourself that, Junior." He says, still acting smug.
"I'm the same age as you."
"Your wallets not!" Claton says as if it's some big comeback.
"That doesn't make any sense." I tell him and he just laughs, pulling his wallet out.
"Oh, my wallet makes sense, it talks to me all the time and right now it's telling me; 'let's make sure we have conjoining rooms with dear Zoey!'" He starts to walk away, stroking his wallet and telling it that we can have conjoining rooms.
Shaking my head, I go back to watching the race. What a sick bastard, as if I'd ever serve him.

About halfway into the race, Uncle D stopped for a pit stop, and the others stuck their heads in to talk to him. I, however, took a step back to look around. Something was off, I could feel it.
As I looked I saw Uncle D's crew chief talking to Pierce. I tap Chase's shoulder and point it out. He looks at them and uses his super hearing to hear what they say.
After we get everything working again, I continue watching the race. A little while latter we were all watching and Joey comes over to us. He obviously got sick of the Harrington's.
"Please, I wanna hide from that flag lady." He tells us and we all look up at Principal Perry who was offering to go halfsies on a hoagie with Joey. Joey hides and I bend down to pat his head. Poor fella.
In the end, we won the race. I hug Chase who holds me tight. Leo was talking to Claton, but I didn't care. We won. I knew we could.
"What did I tell you?" Chase whispers in my ear. "Nothing will separate us, we will always win. You have my word."
And I truly believed that promise, but little did I know things were about to take a turn for the worse.
