A week into school and I'm still known as "the new girl". I don't think anyone bothered to know my name. At least everything was working out as planned. My "No one get's close" rule hadn't been broken. I put on a pair of skinny jeans, my Vans, a tank top, and my usual hoodie. I put on the same makeup as usual and brushed my hair. I ran out of the house before anyone got up. I already knew I was super early because the sun hadn't even risen yet. I took my time walking down the road, fiddling with the necklace again.
By the time the first bell rang I had already been at school for over two hours. I walked to my first class and sat through the class doing my work. That's what I did all day instead of talking to people. Sat in class, did my work, walked silently to my classes, and at lunch I sat by myself and ate what I could. The Tony guy stopped walking with me to classes but I didn't care.
"Jeslyn. What is the chapter about?" The teacher asked. He obviously didn't think I was paying attention to the book.
"All the boys are slowly being driven mad and start potentially fighting each other. As the boys are on the beach, Simon finds a hogs head on a steak and believes it's talking to him." I explained.
"Very well. Everyone please continue reading along. Thank you Jeslyn." He said and played the audio book. The teacher decided to stop the book early and assign more work.
"For this project you will be working in pairs, which I will choose." He said and started naming off partners.
"Jeslyn and...Tony. You two will be working together."
There was a wave of complaints then everyone grew quiet. He finished pairing everyone up just in time for the lunch bell to ring. I left with everyone else, got my lunch, and sat at my usual table...alone. I don't see much of a point to eat since I was just going to throw it up later. You'd think I'd eat as much as I can since I can't eat at home. Over time I learned to eat what I can at school then wait until the next day to eat again. Not eating also made me anorexic so I can't eat that much.
"Aren't you going to eat?" Tony asked sitting at the table.
"Not hungry." I set down the fork that I was holding.
"So do you want me to come pick you up to work on our project, or do you want to work at your house. Either is f..."
"You can pick me up. My dad doesn't like me bringing people over." I said interrupting him.
"Cool."
I got up and dumped my untouched tray. I went to the rest of my classes and waited for the dismissal bell to ring. Once it did I got up and left a little quicker. While I walked down the sidewalk a red Pontiac pulled up beside me.
"You left before I asked what time you want me to pick you up and where you live." He said leaning over so I could see him.
"What time do you want to start the project?"
"How about now? I could drive you home so you can tell your parents then we can head to my place."
"Sounds good." I walked over to the car and got in.
I told him when to turn and everything. I have to make sure my dad doesn't see him. We were three houses away.
"Will you stop at that house?"
"Sure but isn't that your house?" He was pointing to the next house.
"Yeah but like I said before. Dad's not a big fan of people." I saw my dad's car in the driveway which meant him and his bitch were home. I got out of the car and walked up to my house. Before I could even touch the door handle the door swung open, almost hitting me.
