"Why didn't you kiss me?" Why did I just ask that!? What am I doing?!
"Did you want me to?"
I can seen him physically trying to hide a smirk.
"I-I was just wondering. You don't have to answer. It was a stupid question. Just forget I asked." I ramble while staring at my hands.
Seconds turned to minutes of silence. If us just standing there unmoving.
"Are you scared of me?" Tony's voice sliced right through the silence and seemed to strike me with invisible force. Causing all the air in my lungs to disappear suddenly.
"Are you scared of me? Are you, you little bitch? 'Cause by God you better be!" Father screams at the top of his lungs, flinging yet another empty bottle at me. It only missed my head by inches.
"Answer me!"
"Y-yes." My voice barely coming out as a whisper.
"Good. I'd have to teach you a better lesson if you weren't."
I let out a shaky breath but immediately regret it.
"Oh don't be relieved just yet. You still have to be punished for what you've done. For what you've caused. That's what you deserve. Isn't it?" His voice coming across as calm. Way to calm.
The words that lay dormant on my tongue seem like they're not waking up anytime soon.
"Answer me, damn it!"
"Y-y-yes s-sir." I silently beg my body to stop shaking but it doesn't obey.
"What are you, a fucking chihuahua? Stop shaking! Stop stuttering! You're not a damn record player!" He screams picking up something and throwing it at me, this time making contact.
The porcelain plate hit my chest then shatters as it hits the floor. Anything in arms reach is being thrown. Mostly out of reflex, I drop to my knees and cover my head.
"Did I say you can scream? Did I say you can make a sound?" He bellowed so loudly that the windows shook.
When did I scream? I didn't scream, I couldn't have. I know better.
Another plate sailed through the air before smashing against its target. A liquid dripped down my face. I touched my forehead and looked at my hand, only to see my hand covered in the warm red liquid. Slowly everything starts blurring together before turning black.
"No. Yes. I don't know. Maybe. A little? QI'm sorry." I stutter out watching my hands begin to shake once again.
"I'm home! Tony, honey, did you set the table?" A woman's voice rang through the air causing another wave of fear and anxiety wash over my body.
"Tony? Oh!" The voice resonated back to a woman of average height, skin and hair matching Tony's, and wearing a cute light purple dress.
"I didn't know we were having guests! Such a lovely one at that. Why didn't you tell me you've gotten a girlfriend!"
"We're not. Dating, I mean. We're just friends. I'll get to setting the table." A slight blush rose in his cheeks as he scratches the back of his neck.
A fire crept its way onto my own cheeks by the words.
"I'm Lana, Tony's mother. I'm sorry for blurting. I'm afraid I have no filter. It is wonderful meeting you..."
"Jeslyn. Jeslyn Walker and the pleasures all mine." I said with a small smile and putting out my hand to shake her already extended hand.
"My my you are lovely. Don't tell me my little Tony scared has already scared you off. You look on edge. Come! Sit! Take off that hoodie of yours, it's painfully hot in here."
