01; why am I in front of the volleyball team?

Walking through the hallways of Fukurodani Academy, to go to your respective class, the chattering noises of every student with their friends and the footsteps of everyone resonates throughout the building. Your heart was pulsating in your chest as you can't believe that you're already in your second year of high school. You had contrived from surviving when you were a first-year. The weights of workloads that your teachers had given you all and the activities you partook were notoriously arduous. You mentally commended yourself for outwearing the preceding year despite everything being hellfire and chaotic, but, still, you had overcome it. Moreover, Fukurodani is a buoyant institution and you surely enjoyed your days studying here.

As you search your room, your ears perked up upon hearing your name being called, so you crane your neck and peer over your shoulders, only to find your best friend running towards you while waving her arm.

"(First name)!" she said jauntily.

"Oof!" That's you when your friend Ishida Shiori tackled you into a hug, stifling you from her strong embrace and even forcefully nuzzled your face into her big boobs.

"Shi-chan I- I can't b-breath" you informed her and thank the saints that she finally releases you. You take a deep breath before beaming a smile.

"Good morning Shi-chan" you greeted.

"Shi-chan you're exaggerating, we can still meet at lunch break and home," you reassured her by patting her shoulders.

"Well, yeah, but I will miss you!"

"Don't say that Shi-chan. I'm not going to leave the country, you know? So you can stop the act now," you huffed, causing her to stop from faking her cry and let out a hearty laugh.

The two of you commenced your journey while conversing about your escapades during summer vacation. Shiori told you that her class is in class 5 while you also informed her that you're in class 6. When both of you had finally reached your designated classrooms, you two bid your goodbyes.

"See you later (Name)!" She said as you gave her a little nod while waving your hand.

Once Shiori entered her class, now it's your cue to get inside your classroom and find a seat that you preferred or if you don't have any choice, just a vacant seat will do. You trod inside the room only to see a few people talking and some are reading alone. The classroom is not that different from your previous classroom despite they were in different buildings. When you located a vacant seat and validated that no one occupies the post, you went towards it and settled your bag on the table. Subsequently, your eyes descended on a girl reading a book quietly. You scanned the cover page and you perceive that it was a light novel that you had sometimes read. Considering that she was alone and you want to have new friends in your new class and get along with them, you decided to approach her despite your timid persona.

"Hello," you greet her with a smile corroded on your face. The girl tears her gaze from her book and looks at you with an affable expression before returning your greetings.

"I'm (Last name) (Name), how about you?"

"Endo Mari, nice to meet you, too," both of you smiled and talked about yourselves.

She mentioned that she has a cousin attending in this school, and was part of the boys' volleyball club. She also asserted that she had just transferred here since her parents had recently moved in this prefecture due to their jobs and her cousin persuaded her to study in Fukurodani Academy as well. Ergo, she had no choice but to study here as she already predicted that her cousin would bother her until she accepted his nomination. That's the reason why she's now in front of you and talking to you.
