Sherlock and John only took an hour or two to pack, oftin turning around to jump at one of the avengers or Fury standing directly behind them. It was shocking how silent a god of Thunder could be. John decided to have some consideration for Mrs Hutson and left a note, explaining that they were going to America for an unknown amount of time, telling her they were safe and to let molly, Lestrade, and Mycroft know. Sherlock was againsed haveing his brother know his whereabouts, but John simply argued that they were brothers. There was a large limo outside the flat once the two men had finished packing, causing sherlock to laugh. Tony gave him a funny look, urging him to explain.
"A limo? I understand the idea, everyone in the same vehicle, but what an awful choice for London. Your driver will have road rage in muinets, no matter how well trained they are." Sherlock chuckled, causing Tony to smile.
"That's the point. It's funny watching them curse at the cabs. New York is just as bad, if not worse." Tony laughed back. Sherlock gave a quick high five, figuring that despite the akwardness of it, it was worth it. The nine of them all managed to get into the cab with minor bickering, ending up haveing John struggling to keep his cool, being squished between Steve and Thor. Sherlock ended up between Clint and Natasha, the rest of the group very mixed up. The most hilarious part was that Fury was squished againsed Tony, who was despretly trying to create space between himself and he ticking time bomb. Sherlock almost instantly went to his mind palace, opting to think and avoid as much human contact as possible. He rested his elbows on his knees and put his chin on the top of his fingers, his hands in a praying position.
"Um... what is he doing? Is he preying?" Bruce asked, looking to John.
"Oh, uh... realy!? Come on sherlock! This is the worst place to do that!" John sighed. "He's just thinking. He probubly won't snap out of it until we stop. Are we takeing a boat or a plane?" John added curiously.
"How about a private jet?" Tony smirked.
"Now is not the time to gloat Tony." Steve sighed. John raised his eyebrows. A private jet! What does sherlock keep getting him into?
"Hey, I think I know how to snap your buddy out of this." Natasha smiled.
"Go ahead. You'll be waiting your time though. I've tried every reasonable thing under the sun that I could think of." John shrugged.
"Challenge exepted." Natasha smirked. She instantly opted to go for a physical contact, figuring it useualy worked with Tony. But, she couldn't hurt him, yet. So, instead she decided to go for a good old tazer. She poked him with two fingers, just below the ribs. Success!! Sherlock flinched and let out a little yelp, straightening and pulling his arms to his sides.
"What!?" He growled, stareing daggers at Natasha. John was dumbfounded.
"There we go! Welcome back! You were a little out of it." Natasha smirked, obviously enjoying his reaction.
"What was that? What did you just do?" John asked, wanting to use that again.
"What? You never heard of tazering?" Clint asked. John shook his head. "Oh, you guys have sad lives in London. It's where you stick someone in the side just below their ribs and they jump. It works on most people." Clint explained.
"Unfortunately..." Steve grumbled.
"Oh cheer up cap! It's funny! You jump, like, three feet in the air. It's hilarious." Tony laughed.
"Ya, to everyone but the victim." Steve rolled his eyes. Everyone's heads turned to John when he let out a supprized yelp and a curse, seeing Thor smileing like a mad man.
"I have done it!" Thor beamed, clearly exited by his success. John was beat red and had his arms protecting his sides.
"Nice! Oh, and fair warning, try and do that to Natasha and she will break your arm." Tony informed. Sherlock had leaned back and gone back to his mind palace, causing Clint to laugh.
"He's not much of a people person, is he?" Steve smiled.
"You have no idea." John sighed, relaxing again.
"GA! stop that! Let me think! Thinking is what's going to solve your case!" Sherlock yelped, Clint had poked him this time.
"You don't have any information yet." Bruce stated, confused.
"That's not true." John sighed, waiting for sherlock to begin his rant like explanation.
"I'm going over everything I know about shield to determine what you will already have tried. I am sure you've tried a magic signature search, obviously it didn't work because loki will have masked his energy. A normal scan wouldn't have worked for the same reason. Fury has lost sleep over the fact of needing help from someone outside of shield. I don't blame you for haveing trust issues after the hydra shield incident. Mr Stark has tried to find Loki with his suits and Thor has also tried locating his brother through some asgardian means. That is why you've come to me. You useualy don't need detectives for your operations, your spies being just as good. So, if science can't get you any clues than you need someone with an eye sharper than all of your agents combined as well as a range of knowledge for more than you would ever dream of. So, comeing to me was a last resort, you would have come sooner if you had John and I as part of shield and you wern't dragging civilians into the mix. Shall I continue?" Sherlock droaned, he always hated explaining himself like this.
"Now I see why Fury chose you two. But why do people seem to think your annoying? You seem fine to me." Steve smiled.
"No. Sherlock. Don't do it. Please. I would rather have you not get punched by a super soldier." John pleaded, knowing that sherlock was about to make some awful deductions and end up on Steves bad side.
"The man would like to know John. If he hears something he doesn't like I'm sure he can use some military self restraint." Sherlock smiled. "So, Mr rogers." Sherlock started, haveing Steve politely interject.
"Please, you can call me Steve." He smiled, sherlock nodded and restarted.
"Steve. I will have you know that I have never read anything about your personal life, don't have the time." sherlock began. Steve nodded and everyone settled in for the show. Sherlock only looked at Steve for a few seconds before continueing.
"There was a girl, before the ice. You were never much of a lady's man before the serum. Considering you probubly only gained the confidence to get close to a woman after the serum, she was probubly part of the army, tough job for a women at the time, but for you to know her she probubly did well. Judging by the time of the war and your age, it would of had to be Peggy Carter, the only woman in the army surrounding you. Now, you don't look at anyone the same way because of the wonderful woman Peggy probubly was. You are unable to find anyone like her and you continue to compare woman to her, not by choice of Corse. You still hold the weight of the world on your shoulders, despite not being the only superhero in the world anymore, you still feel you must protect it as such. That brings me to my next point. Your posture is not only from military training, but it is a jealousy issue. You enjoyed the little bit of attention you got in the 40s after the serum, even though you won't admit it, and it still unsettles you to know that your not getting as much of that attention. The way you are clearly more than comfortable squished between people suggests you like human contact, not in an inappropriate way, but just contact. You like being the leader, you feel as though you were born to be at the head of the team, despite your humble nature. Nothing to worry about though, everyone gets jealous and revels in success. Shall I continue or do you think your red enough?" Sherlock smirked, likeing the ability to make the soldier blush. Steve just sat there, stiff and stunned. He felt like he had just been read like a book. No wonder sherlock could get on people's nerves. "I could do the same for the rest of you, but the rest of you would punch me." Sherlock finnished, leaning back in his seat. Even Fury looked shocked.
"Should I be feeling violated right now?" Steve finaly managed to say, breaking the silence and causing everyone to laugh and for John to let out a sigh of relief.
"Did I get anything wrong?" Sherlock asked. Steve just shook his head, still in shock.
"That was amazeing. I should get you to do that to Natasha!" Tony laughed.
"I've already deduced that she would snap my neck if I told you what I now know about her. In fact, I know more about you all than you would probubly like to know." Sherlock smiled.
"GET OF THE ROAD YOU BLOODY BULL COCK!! LEARN TO DRIVE WILL YOU!?" The driver yelled out the window, everyone but John cheered.
"Finaly! Took him long enough." Tony laughed. Let's just say that the rest of the trip to America was filled with similar convorsation.
