{Romeo}

I woke up to my to my alarm. It was the song it always is. Barcelona, Ed Sheeran. Asha's favourite song. We used to sing and dance to Ed's music all the time. Numerous times we got told to shut up but we didn't ever listen. I loved waking up to Barcelona, it started my day reminding me of the Spanish girl I loved so much.

"Well get up up on the dancefloor tonight, I've got two left feet and a bottle of red wine, Making me feel like the beat and the bassline, Are in my blood, both hands upon her waistline, Get on up baby dance to the rhythm of the music, Don't care what the DJ chooses, Get lost in the rhythm of me, Place don't close until we wanna leave it" Her beautiful voice sung over the Ed. She jumped on her bed and short school skirt flying up slightly. She used a half empty bottle of water as her microphone.

Seb and I looked at her like she was crazy, correction, we already knew she was crazy. But we loved her for that. "Come sing with me" Her English mixed with Spanish accent was beautiful and it put me in a daydream. She held out the bottle still pretending it was her mic and Seb started singing the next couple of lines into it. "Your turn, Romeo" She held the bottle to my lips and I started singing the chorus.

She took my hand and pulled me onto her bed, she began to dance with me as she sang the second verse. "Seb, come on up" She yelled holding her hands out.

"I'm filming you, idiot" He chuckled before running his hand through is perfect quiff, I swear these gay boys look better than us straight boys.

"Shut the fuck up" There was a loud scream from downstairs. Asha's sister I'm guessing.

"No, you shut the fuck up Alba" Asha mocked as she made a face. Seb and I burst out laughing.

To annoy Alba, even more, Asha reached for the control of her speaker and turned the volume up louder. The next song on the shuffled albums began to play, Nancy Mulligan. My favourite.

"Romeo, it's your song" Asha yelled holding my hands and jumping into the air, most of her weight on me. I laughed until I saw a purplish bruise on her thigh. I knew Seb saw it too.

Seb wasn't shy, he just asked her, "How did you get the bruise on your leg?"

She looked at him puzzled, "what bruise?"

"This one" Seb said pulling up her skirt. Only Seb. No fear to look right up a girl's skirt. Asha frowned her eyebrows at him, "no clue"

I believed her, she was very clumsy.

"Romeo, breakfast is out" I heard my mum's voice yell. "Coming" I yelled back. I finished buttoning my shirt and then tied the stripped tie around my neck as neatly as I could.

I swiftly moved down the stairs knowing Brooklyn would eat my breakfast as if I didn't get there in time. I entered the large dining room and surprisingly there was a deafening silence. Nothing but Harper's loud munching could be heard.

This is so unusual.

"Crap, I didn't do my History homework" Cruz yelled as he shoved a piece of toast down his throat.

"Bring it here, we'll do it together now," Dad said surprising calm.

"What's the date?" Cruz asked hurriedly.

"April 30th," Mum said sadly and every began to piece together in my brain.

"I'll put the 28th on it" Cruz scribbled hurriedly on messy hotter he had brought to the table.

"Shit," Brooklyn cursed.

"Language, Buster," mum raised her eyebrows at him signalling to Harper at the table.

"It's a year today, isn't it" Everyone was silent knowing exactly what he meant.

Today marked the day it was a year since my girl went missing, a whole year without her.

I ate silently but it got to the point where I wasn't hungry anymore, I just felt sick. "Brooklyn drop your siblings at school please, it's raining out and I don't want them walking" Mum instructed.

We got our bags and began to walk out the door to Brooklyn's car. As I helped Harper to do her seatbelt, I felt my phone vibrate in my back pocket, I didn't think anything of it. It was probably just Seb.
