"Will you relax?" Shannon said.
"This is about as relaxed as I'm going to get," I pointed out, "He's introducing me to his parents. People don't normally introduce their fake girlfriend!"
"People don't normally have fake girlfriend's, if you want to be technical," Shannon said as she helped me get ready.
"You are not helping what so ever," I glared.
"I'm just saying," she smirked, "but it just proves my point."
"Don't start this, Shannon. Not now."
"Okay, okay," she shrugged, "There! You look great!"
I turned towards the mirror and stared.
"What do you think?" Shannon asked.
I couldn't form actual words so I just nodded instead.
She smiled.
There was a a knock at the door before Ian walked in.
I turned towards him to see his face fall.
"Is something wrong?" I asked.
"Nothing, you look absolutely beautiful," he replied.
I blushed.
"Well, it's time for you crazy kids to get out of here. You've got people waiting on you." She winked at me.
"You ready to go?" he asked.
I nodded and said "I'll meet you in the car."
He smirked before nodding his head and leaving to the car.
I took a deep breath and said "Well, here goes nothing."
"You'll be fine" she laughed.
I smiled before going to my mom's room. I knocked then waited for her to say come in.
"Come in," she said through the door.
I opened the door and said "Hey, mom".
"Oh, don't you just look so beautiful," she smiled.
"You think so?" I asked.
"Absolutely. Ian's parents are going to be very glad to see you."
"Well, I'm leaving now. I just wanted to see you before I left," I stated.
"Well, I'm glad you did," she smiled then coughed.
I stared at her worried and said "Is everything okay?"
"Oh yeah, I'm fine. Just coming down with a little cold," she smiled.
"Mom-," I began before she cut me off.
"No, you're not doing this again. You're not giving up another night of your life to take care of me. I won't allow it. You've got a boy out there, waiting for you, who really likes you by the way, to take you out. And your going. End of discussion."
I stared at her mouth open.
"And close your mouth. It's not ladylike to keep it open like that. People might get the wrong idea."
I shut my mouth before going over and kissing her on the head. I could feel it was more than just a cold when I touched her.
I stood up and said "It's coming back isn't?"
"Carmen, we're not doing this now," she stated.
"When were you going to tell me your cancer was coming back?" I asked, tears beginning to fill up in my eyes.
"Not on your birthday, that's for sure," she sighed exhaustedly.
"We'll talk when I get home," I stated.
"Okay, mom," she replied.
I left and closed her door when I left. I took a deep breath to center myself before walking towards the car.
Ian was standing there with a grin on his face before it shifted to being worried.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
"Nothing," I said pullingo on a fake smile.
"Don't lie to me. What's wrong, babe?" he asked again, brushing my face gently.
"Can we talk about it later? Please?" I asked.
He sighed and kissed my forehead before nodding. "It is your birthday," he replied. "Ready to meet my parents?" he smirked as he opened my door.
I got in.
He closed my door before getting in on his side he looked at me with a smile, waiting for my answer.
"Not at all," I grinned. "Let's go."

Hey, guys here's a little something for waiting so long. Sorry I've been seriously MIA. I didn't even know people still read this story. I truly am sorry. So much is going on in my personal life, it's kept me busy. I'm a senior in high school so getting into college and applying for scholarships are a really big part of my life right now and last year I was diagnosed with high blood pressure at sixteen and I'm still trying to get that under control. I'll be eighteen next month and I've just got so much to get done. I'm not saying you have to accept this as an apology but my personal life with school and my health are really taking over right now.
Also, Take Me to Infinty is still on Amazon for sale and another book will be next in line as soon as I finish it. I will put a sample on here when it's done. (:
Well, have an Exuberant day or night wherever you are. I will try to write more often but no promises.
Ms_Exuberant out to get some zzzz's
