Oh, well. It's my story.)

ENJOY.!!

I laid in my bed wide awake with Ian beside me, sleeping away. He yawned and pulled me closer to him in his sleep.

I looked over at him.

"I wonder what you're thinking about," I said quietly.

"I'm wondering why you aren't sleep," he responded, shocking me. He opened his eyes and pulled me closer to him and said "What's wrong? It's four in the morning and you're still awake."

"I can't get my mind to turn off. I can't stop seeing Damien fall in front of me," I replied feeling fresh warm tears fall freely down my face. The images were so real and vivid it was as if I was living the same moment over and over and over again.

"It's okay. I'm here," Ian whispered softly.

"I need to be there for him. I need to know he's okay," I cried.

"Do you want me to take you?" he asked.

I looked up at him and asked "Will you?"

"I'd do anything for you," he whispered softly against my lips before kissing my forehead.

We were dressed within minutes and out the door within seconds. The ride to the hospital was silent but not awkward. I was silent because all I wanted to do was be near my friend, Ian was silent because he was worried about me. I was too wired and worried to think about anything but getting to the hospital because if my mind drifted it was immediately back to the horrific images of earlier tonight.

When we finally arrived at the hospital, Ian pulled up to the front entrance, looked at me and said "How about I park the car, while you head inside?"

I stared at him for a few before nodding. I leaned over and kissed him before getting out of the car. I pulled my coat closer together as I walked up and into the front doors. I walked up to the information at the same time I heard my name called.

I turn to see Shannon.

"Never mind," I said to the woman at the desk before walking towards Shannon. She pulled me into a tight hug as I asked "How is he?"

"Not the best but he's okay. Where's Ian?"

"Parking the car."

"Actually, I'm here."

I turned to see Ian walking up to us. He intertwined our fingers before kissing my forehead.

"Well, everyone's over here. We're all going in one at a time to talk to him. You should be able to go after I get out and if you want Ian, you could too?"

"Maybe," he replied.

Shannon nodded, not pushing it. We walked over to everyone else at the same time the ambulance came rushing in with another patient. It was a guy clearly around our age on the stretcher. His hand was gripped tightly in who I presumed was his girlfriend's hand. The fear in both of their eyes made my blood run cold. Ian held me closer and turned us away from the scene.
