After accidently calling Lilly a ghost, i felt the need to explain to her about my ability, she was really understanding about the entire thing. She certainly didn’t call me a weirdo and ran off like most other people do. I plucked up all the courage i had and asked her out on a date.
I glance down at my watch, she is 7 minutes late. Typical woman.
My mind wanders to what I will be doing after our date. No, I’m referring to the witch who is coming at midnight to cut my eye, not that other thing you dirty people!
While explaining to Lilly about my eye I told her about this “cure” that could stop me seeing the ghosts. She told me that if I really hated my gift I should go ahead with it, Walter would understand if he was a true friend.
I told Walter I was going to go through with it and he was upset to begin with, but he is a true friend and told me he would stand by my decision.
My eyes dart to across the street where I see a familiar blonde headed girl in a white figure hugging dress, walking towards me. If she never looked like an angel before, she sure as hell did now.

“Oliver that was just wonderful” Lilly exclaimed to me as we jumped off of my motorcycle. If there is anything better than walking through NYC at night, it’s riding through it with a beautiful women on your back at night.
“I’m glad you enjoyed it”, I replied to her. I quickly grabbed her hand, “Come on let's go” I shouted as I began to drag her behind her.
“Where are we going??” she screamed in enjoyment.
Abruptly I stopped, right in front of a little ice cream parlour. I bowed down to Lilly and extended my hand.
“Ice cream for the lady?” I said in a jokingly old fashioned manner.
Lilly began laughing out loud, gaining the attention of passer-by’s. “There is always room for pudding” she giggled.
I turn to open the door to the ice cream parlour when suddenly her shawl that she was using to keep her arms cosy blew out of her grip and flew onto the road.
As I began to swivel around to stop her from going after it, a sense of doom seemed to wash over me. It was if everything happened in slow motion.
Lilly slowly ran onto the road and swiftly grabbed her shawl. Abruptly, a car head lights came out of nowhere and hit Lilly sending her fifty feet into the air.
The whole world stopped spinning, and my heart stopped for a moment.
The traffic began to slow down and all I could see was red stains all over her white dress. I ran over to her and held her gently in my arms, slowly rocking her while trying to wish to go back in time.
“Son, we need to get her to hospital” a voice says from above me. I can feel a hand on my shoulder as Lilly’s body is pulled away from me. I try and hold on to her tighter but a stern voice tells me otherwise.
“Let her go, Oliver”, Walter's voice tells me, “the man is an ambulance driver. He’s taking her to the hospital”. I tilt my head up, wipe the tears away from my eyes and see the red stained dress drifting further and further away from me. I shout and scream in fear that I will never see her beautiful face again.
“Son, I can take you to the hospital.” A voice says behind me. I jump round to see a man with a beard pointing towards a car, “I’m a taxi driver. I can take you to the hospital”.
And just like that, within 2 minutes my world was turned upside down. One minute I was enjoying life, laughing with a beautiful woman and the next it came crashing down.
