Gawking over Luke was becoming tiresome; I sat there watching him show off Britney around the dance floor imagining that it was me. I was a sad human being.
Luke looked handsome in his maroon jacket, black pants and tie. Britney was in a long maroon backless dress that made me feel just a bit insecure.
You're Massey Summers I reminded myself, guys drool over you. I got up flicked my hair over to my other shoulder and made my way out of the gym -I was in desperate need of new scene and real alcohol.
The hallway was empty except for a couple who couldn't keep their hands off each other. "Get a room" I laughed as they glared at me before re-entering the gym
As I walked out the building I noticed Vaygan sitting on the steps in the rain with a cigarette in his mouth. He was drenched but didn't seem to care. I sat down next to him trying to avoid getting wet.
"You came" I said nudging him in his side.
"I wish I hadn't" he said under his breath, throwing the cigarette in a nearby puddle
"Why" I asked
He looked at me with his emotionless grey eyes "She loves him" he said with anger before looking away.
I felt bad for him, Vaygan was deeply in love with Alex and she couldn't have cared less about his feelings.
That's what Levi does to her, she forgets about the rest of the world when it comes to him. They've been together practically since kinder garden but when he was 14 his parents got divorced and he moved to London with his dad for three years, when he moved back Alex was already with Vaygan.
"Let's get out of here" I said and stood up. "I need tequila"
"Sure, why not; I need to change out of this stupid wet suit anyway" he said bitterly
"You look good by the way" I said trying to lift his spirit
Vaygan and I made our way to his house which was a walking distance from the school. By the time we got there I was as just as soaked as he was.
"Where's your parents" I asked as I stepped in the mini mansion, a trail of water following me
"Sydney" he answered, taking off his jacket.
His parents owned a few hotels across the world and seemed to travel a lot by the looks of things.
I followed him up to his room which I've only ventured into about twice. He's room was light and open, not what you'd expect from a bad boy.
He handed me a towel, a sweat pants that belonged to Alex (judging by its size) and one of his T-shirts that had a huge bat man logo on the front. Oddly enough he seemed like the bat man type.
"I'll be in the kitchen" he said before leaving the room.
Getting undressed was a mission, firstly I struggled reaching the zip on my back and secondly thanks to the rain the dress stuck to my body like glue. After about fifteen minutes of struggling I finally got it off of me... never wearing that dress again.
As soon as I was in the dry clothes I made my way down to the kitchen where Vaygan was sitting and drinking coffee. He looked at me from head to toe
"Batman suits you" he smiled.
"Really?" I said striking a pose and he just sat there and laughed at me.
"Where do you keep the alcohol" I asked looking around the kitchen. Vaygan took another sip of his coffee and pointed to one of the cupboards.
"Jackpot" I said staring at all the bottles of alcohol. I took a bottle of tequila out and two shot glasses that were next to it. "This should be fine"
Taking a seat next to Vaygan I filled our glasses. He looked at me and raised his glass
"To being forever alone" he said with a half smile
"More like to a night that should be forgotten" I laughed before downing my shot of tequila and he did the same.
After about more than a few drinks I start feeling tipsy and a great urge to dance, which usually happens when I drink tequila...
or anything else for that matter.
I clumsily made my way onto the kitchen table and start dancing
- poorly, might I add .
Vaygan looked at me with a smile "you better get off there before you break something" he said putting out his hands for me to grab. As I reached out to him, I tripped over the toaster that I had been dancing around and tumbled into his lap
"I think I broke me" I laugh, still on his lap.
He wrapped his arms around me and looked at me with worry in his eyes "You ok?" he asks.
I nod my head and shoved my face into his chest "you smell nice" I accidently say out loud and mentally kick myself.
I'm obviously wasted and not in control of my sanity
"I think you might've knocked you're head" he joked and I could feel him laughing.
I smiled, pulling myself away from his chest till we were face to face.
"Why am I even here" I ask myself -mostly.
"Because we're the same" Vaygan answered, his eyes piercing through mine.
I held his stare, waiting for him to continue.
"We're both hopelessly in love with people who'll never feel the same way" he said as his eyes darkened.
"No hope for the hopeless" I said giving a half smile but his words stuck with me. What if I was obsessing over Luke who would probably never even notice me?
"Is something wrong with me?" I asked feeling a bit insecure
He looked at me in disbelief "Are you kidding me? All I see is perfection" I felt my face turn red as he stared at me. For a moment I kinda lost myself in his eyes.
Which was wrong because he belonged to Alex, I tried to remind myself
- tried
And that's when he leaned in closer, his eyes focused on my lips.
My heart raced as his hands gripped tighter around me.
"Vaygan" I said breathing heavily as he pulled me closer. I could feel the warmth of his lips against my neck and It sent all sorts of vibrations through my body
-oh wait that's my phone.
In an instant I'm off of Vaygan and I immediately answer the call
"Where the hell are you?"
-it's Alex and she sounds pissed
"I waited for you at school but you left" I answered, I looked at Vaygan, imaging what could of happened "uhm... I'm on my way"
I couldn't tell her where I was, or what just went down.
"Hurry, I need to tell you what happened" she said and hung up.
There was an awkward silence and Vaygan just looks at me
"uh, I have to go" I said and vaygan nods his head in agreement
"About what happened just now..." he said anxiously and ran his fingers through his hair
I took one last look at him
"Nothing happened" I answered and hurried out
