Arielle's POV

I was sitting on the balcony of my room overlooking the castle grounds when one of the guards told me that my father wanted to see me in the throne room, I walked out of the room with the guard following close behind me, the doors to the throne room was opened as soon as I stood in front of them, I walked in and seen my father talking with the knights about the oncoming battle, my friend Dante was also a knight, I wasn't to fond of the idea about it but he insisted on being one

Arielle: you wanted to see me father?

Xander: yes, I'm inviting our neighboring kingdom to a ball and I want you to look your best tonight

Arielle: what's the occasion?

Xander: I'm planning to unite both kingdoms, I've had a dress made for you, Dante will escort you there, Dante will you come here

He walked over and I looked up at him for a second before looking back at my father

Xander: Dante I want you to take my daughter to the fitting room, I'll see you tonight Arielle

We started walking out of the throne room and towards the fitting room so I can try on the dress my father was having made for me tonight, Dante stood guard while I was getting ready, after it was on me I turned to Dante who looked mesmerized

Arielle: how do I look Dante?

Dante: you look beautiful, my lady

Arielle: thank you Dante, I feel weird wearing this dress

Dante: it looks great on you, my lady

Arielle: Dante if you say "my lady" again I promise next sword fight we have I'm not going to go easy on you

Dante: whatever you say my lady, you know I've been letting you win

Arielle: oh yeah I'm sure you have

He sat down in the window and I stood between his legs with my arms around his neck when my father caught us, Dante stood up quick and I backed away

Xander: that dress looks beautiful on you Arielle and Dante I will speak with you later

Dante: yes your majesty

Me and Dante walked outside to the woods, I come here to listen to the birds sing and me and Dante would practice sword fighting here I sat down on a small rock near a small creek

Arielle: I hope I didn't get you in trouble with my father Dante

Dante: don't worry about it Arielle, I'll tell him that you slipped and I caught you before he came around the corner

Arielle: we can't keep sneaking around like this Dante, we have to tell him, he needs to know

Dante: I know but it's too soon now Arielle, the battle could start any day now

Arielle: I wish you wouldn't go Dante, I need you here with me, who else am I gonna talk to if you're gone?

Dante: I'm doing this for your safety Ari, there is nothing more than I want is to keep you safe and to see you happy

Arielle: I feel safe whenever I'm with you and I am happy because I have a friend like you Dante

I heard the horn being blown letting everyone know that the people of the neighboring kingdom have just arrived, Dante escorted me back to the ball room as we tried to get there before our visitors got there, I finally made it and sat down in my throne beside my father, the doors to the ball room opened and I seen the king and his son walk in with a couple of their guards

Zechariah: hello King Xander, I hear you wanna unite our kingdoms

Xander: you heard right my friend

Zechariah: well you have a beautiful young daughter, is she promised to anyone?

Xander: no actually I haven't found anyone yet

Zechariah: well my son is about the same age and seeing how you want to unite my kingdom with your kingdom, I suggest a marriage could be arranged

Xander: interesting suggestion, you have a deal Zechariah

Arielle: but father I-

Xander: not now Arielle, we will speak later about this and let the ball begin

I looked over at Prince Gabriel who gave me a sinister look, I looked over at Dante and noticed that he wasn't breaking eye contact with Gabriel, after the ball was over my father and me sat down with our visitors and before I knew it my father was being pinned to the floor, the castle was under attack I rushed over to my dying father and knelt down beside him

Xander: run Arielle, take care of yourself I love you

Arielle: I love you too father, please don't leave me

He handed me his ring before he died, Dante grabbed my wrist and we run out of the castle and to get a few horses, we rode as far as we could to get somewhere safe, after we got far away I stopped on the hill and looked at my kingdom watching it burn

Arielle: I can't believe it ended this way, I need to take back my kingdom

Dante: you will Arielle but right now we need to get you someplace safe before they start looking for you

We continued to ride away from my kingdom, we found an old church after what felt like hours of riding, Dante unmounted the horse before he help me off mine, he took the saddle off the horses and scared them off that way if anyone come looking for me they wouldn't know where I was hiding, I watched as the horses ran the other direction while Dante hid the saddles inside the building, I walked inside with him and he closed the door, we explored the building and found supplies we need, I was looking through a book while Dante was looking out the window just in case someone followed us here, it was quiet except for the sound of us moving around, he got up and laid on the bed beside me and we fell asleep next to each other.
