Arielle's POV

After we arrived in the city we left Lenia in the market to go talk with the king, the guards led to the throne room and we discussed my situation with him, he agreed to let us stay as long as we liked as guests in our castle, Dante went to let Lenia know and she walked back into the castle with him, the princess told me about the ball they was having tonight and she showed me where the dressing room was. It was time for the ball and I stayed on the balcony and looked out towards the ocean, one of the maidens escorted Dante to where I was and he bumped into Lenia

Lenia: you know Dante it isn't fair to make her wait like you did

Dante: yes I know, where she is at?

Lenia: she is over there

I heard him walk up behind me, I turned around and immediately started looking down at the floor, he put his hand under my chin and made me look up at him

Arielle: I feel so silly in this dress, but the princess picked it out

Dante: she couldn't have picked a better dress, you look beautiful Ari

Arielle: thank you Dante, you look handsome, you really should quit wearing your armor now

Dante: you know I'm never gonna do that Arielle, I kinda need it to keep my body safe

I didn't say anything else, I started looking back at the ocean again, he walked up next to me and leaned against the balcony and looked out to the ocean too

Dante: are you okay, Arielle? You are never this quiet

Arielle: I'm fine I was just thinking

Dante: anything you wanna talk about?

Arielle: I was just thinking about when we first met, do you remember?

Dante: yeah I remember, you had fell into a mud puddle and I helped you up, my mom took you home and cleaned you up, I remember your dad having all the guards out looking for you

Arielle: yeah that was the day you told me that you was going to be a knight like your father was

Dante: yeah I looked up to my father and when the priest found out where we lived he told my mom what had happened to him and all I could think about was you, I even told the priest that you and me was best friends

I suddenly remembered the passage I found, the priest had wrote that into the notepad about finding the unknown warrior's family, I got quiet again and Dante gave me a really strange look before he looked back towards the ocean again

Arielle: Dante...

Dante: yeah Arielle?

Arielle: I love you

He stood up and looked at me

Dante: Arielle, you can't I mean you shouldn't I'm not right for you

Arielle: what do you mean Dante?

Dante: because I'm a monster Arielle

Arielle: you're not a monster Dante and I've always been in love with you

He got quiet but continued to stare at me, he grabbed my hand and we started walking someplace so we could be talk in private, we reached a clearing outside of the city

Dante: I need you to see  something

I sat down on a small rock and watched as he had gotten completely naked

Arielle: Dante what are you doing?

He didn't say anything and I seen a red glow surrounding him, next thing I knew he had turned into a dragon right before my eyes, after he transformed he laid down and put his head on the ground

Arielle: Dante, how long have you been able to do this?

He growled a little bit but I couldn't understand what he said

Arielle: this doesn't change the way I feel Dante I love you and your not a monster

He looked at me before changing back into a human, I handed his clothes back to him, I turned around so he could get dressed

Dante: you can turn around now Arielle

Arielle: so how long have you been able to do that Dante?

Dante: I just started it actually, you're the first person to see the whole transformation Arielle

Arielle: well dragon or no dragon, I love you Dante

I walked up to him and he pulled me towards him, I wrapped my arms around his neck as he leaned down and we started kissing me, he pulled away, grabbed my hand and we started walking back to the city, we was shown where the rooms where and I laid down and fell asleep
