Chapter 3:

"It's safe here, Rose. Come on, get down. We will keep you safe," Ethan started, reaching out to help me down from my perch on my horse, "Are you okay?"

"Do you want the truth or what you want to hear? Honestly, I do not know if I'm alright. But not because I was afraid. Not because I almost got kidnapped again. But because I had trusted you. And now I don't know what to do, because there is so much you haven't told me and when you do tell me, how will I know that what you are saying is true?" I went on rambling this nonsense for a while, and when I finally stopped, I just turned and started walking.

We were stranded in the middle of nowhere, I couldn't see anything for miles, and I was walking away. I used the back of my hand to wipe away the tears that now streamed down my face. Then Peter was there, keeping an even pace as me, but staying a few feet away. I turned my face away so he wouldn't see the tears. Then I stopped. I couldn't keep moving forward. I couldn't turn around. And as if be just standing in the middle of nowhere on an empty road crying wasn't enough, I fell to my knees feeling sickly.

"Come on, Rose, come with me and I will keep you safe. I can keep you away from all of this if you come with me," Peter decided, standing in front of me with his hands outstretched. I held up my hands and Peter helped me up, while wrapping one arm around my shoulders.

"Where are we going to go?" I asked Peter, smiling.

"Away from all of this." Was his reply.
