Catching Fire Au Part 2

~ Time skip to the wedding a few month later because I'm super lazy ~

'Breath in. Breath out. It is just a wedding.' you tried to calm yourself down. 'Exactly! It is a goddamn wedding!' the voice inside you yelled. Since month you tried to calm yourself down but now that the wedding was right here you weren't able to calm down anymore. It was driving you insane. Thousands of things could go wrong. What if it still wouldn't convince Zarkon, since the proposal you hadn't heard a thing about him. The thoughts raced in your mind not getting to a rest.

Right then someone knocked and (B/F/N) stepped in. She was a Galra girl (or a Galra boy if your Bff is a boy) you met at the party. She was the only one who didn't annoy you this evening and eventually the two of you got along pretty well. Now she was here to help you get ready for the wedding.

"Are you nervous?" she asked as she took your hand and guided you to the chair in front of the mirror. "You're kidding, right? I'm not just nervous. I am about to explode. What if I mess up? What if I trip or forget what I have to say?" you rambled as (B/F/N) placed her hands on your shoulders. "(Y/N), calm down. You're gonna do just fine. Everything's gonna be alright. And now sit still or I mess up your hair." she said as she spun me around to face the mirror again.

About the hours later, put through the torture of hairstyling and make-up (B/F/N) finally let you out of the chair. But you weren't ready. You still had to put on the dress and even if you actually hated dresses you had decided on a wedding dress in princess style. It had long lace sleeves and a wide skirt. (Picture on the top)

After (B/F/N) helped you into the dress you stood in front of the mirror. It was like seeing a completely new person, you couldn't believe the person you saw in the mirror was you.

"(Y/N), you look beautiful." (B/F/N) gasped, tears shining in her eyes. "Don't cry or else I'll cry, too." you laughed the tears already coming up in your eyes. "Don't you dare, I spent one hour on your make-up." she laughed wiping away a few tears.

A soft knock on the door interrupted the two of you. It was Ulaz, who you had asked to walk you down the aisle. You and Matt had insisted on a wedding that was like one on earth. When you were a little kid you wanted your father to walk you down the aisle and after you met Shiro you even considered asking him if it would ever come that far, but now neither of them were there. (B/F/N) smiled at you. "Let's get you married." she said linking arms with me.

You stood at the door trying to steady your breath. This door was the only thing that kept you seperated from everything. Behind this door there, sadly, wasn't just Matt but hundrets of strangers and Zarkon. They all came just to see you and you couldn't make one wrong move or it'd be over.

"You've got this." Ulaz said squeezing your hand lightly then pushing the door open.

The music started and Ulaz and you started to walk down the aisle. You smiled when you saw Matt and he just stared at you in amazement. The whole way you just kept your eyes on Matt, knowing that you would probably break down if you'd see Zarkon.

Then you finally arrived at the altar and Ulaz left your side. Then you turned to Matt and it was like all of your doubt was washed away.

"What have I done to deserve such a beautiful bride?" Matt whispered and your chest swell with love. "What have I done to deserve such a wonderful groom." you whispered back.

Then the ceremony began. Through the whole ceremony you just kept looking at Matt and it really helped you. Against your concerns nothing bad happened. You didn't forget what to say and soon both of you had said your wedding vows and you gave each other the wedding rings. They were kept just as simple as your engagement ring and you couldn't love it more. "You may kiss the bride." the priest finished as Matt closed the gap between you two kissing you.

It was like a firework exploded inside you and you've never felt so happy. You completely forgot where you were and how many people were actually watching until you heard the cheers and applause from all around you. Smiling you turned towards the crowd and suddenly you didn't have a problem with all the people. Not even with Zarkon. Because now you had your wonderful husband at your side.

Before the two of you walked down the aisle you quickly glanced at Zarkon, who just nodded at you. You sighed in relief. You made it. Then you turned back to Matt again smiling as he returned the smile.

~ Time skip to the morning after the wedding ~

You woke up early and went into the kitchen, when someone aggressively knocked the door. You quickly went to open it just to find Ulaz standing in front of it looking around in panic.

"What is it?" you asked still a bit sleepy. "Matt and you have to come with me. Now. That is." he rambled as he shoved you further into your little apartment. "Why?" you asked not quiet realizing what was going on.

"Voltron is here." he simply said as he knocked the bedroom door screaming at Matt to get up.

"What?" you yelled, finally realizing what was going on.

"Princess Allura is on the ship and Voltron is here to get her back. We have to get the two of you to her so the three of you can escape." he explained as Matt came out of the bedroom yawning.

"What is going on?" he asked confused. "No time for a second explanation. Come on." Ulaz said and grabbed our wrists dragging us out.

While we were sneaking through the hallways I explained Matt our plan and soon enough we saw Princess Allura and a person in yellow armor talking to her. "Wait!" Ulaz yelled drawing there attention on us. When they saw Ulaz their eyes widened in fear and the guy in yellow armor raised his weapon. "Don't!" you yelled now standing in front of him. "We don't have time for this. I know you don't trust me, you don't have to. Just help these two. That are Matt Holt and (Y/N) (L/N). They were prisoners for about two years and I just want them to get out of here. As long as they stay they're in danger." Ulak explained. With this words he turned around and left. "Get in the lion." Allura suddenly said as she turned to the person, which I assumed to be the yellow paladin. She said something else which you couldn't understand but the guy seemed to get a message from someone explaining that there would be a change of plans. You didn't know if you were the change of plans or something else, but you didn't really care. After two years you finally had the chance to get out of here.

A few minutes later the yellow paladin, who quickly introduced himself as Hunk, and Allura came back and you were flying towards a big ship that looked like a castle. The four of you landed in a hangar and went to the commando central. Allura created a wormhole and got you far away from Zarkon's ship.

After you were finally safe, all the paladins came into the commando central. They cheered because of their victory when the blue paladin noticed you first.

"Who are you?" he asked seducing as he leaned closer to you. "I am (Y/N) (L/N) and taken." you said smiling innocent at him as the red paladin started to laugh.

"(Y/N)?!" two people asked disbelieving at the same time then they turned to Matt. "Matt?!" they asked even louder this time.

"Yes?" you asked confused at the same time as the black and green paladin took of their helmets.

"Katie?!" Matt asked disbelieving running towards his sister as you eyed the other one closer. "Shiro?!" you happily asked as he already embraced you.

The minutes after that were a complete mess filled with explanations who you were, were you've been and how you knew each other. But after a while everyone was updated about what had happened and Allura offered you to stay at the castle. It still felt like a dream, like you could wake up any second and be back on Zarkon's ship. But you didn't wake up. It was real. You and Matt were finally free.
