It's been 4 years since that day, 4 years since I last saw them, and 4 years since I last saw him. On that day we were found, after a couple of months, we were separated. Yuu didn't like the idea, but once I told him we would see each other once again and reassured him that we  then finally parted. I had always wondered how he's been and if he's still the same old Chi-kun.

Yuu

What the hell am I even doing in a place like this?

Flashback 4 Years Earlier

Yuu: "What is the meaning of all this? I thought the world had fallen into ruin--"

Guren: "Fallen into ruin? Is that what the vampires told you?"

Yuu: ". . ."

Guren: "Heh... Well, it is true that because of that virus, the human population fell to one-tenth of what it used to be and since the trumpet of the Apocalypse sounded, strange monsters have been crawling around in the underground. However, mankind will not give up so easily. Rebirth is coming."

Yuu: "R-rebirth?"

Guren: "Our organization will take the lead. We will rally together all the survivors and snatch back supremacy."

Yuu: "Who are you?"

Guren: "I am Lieutenant Colonel Guren Ichinose of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. If you come with me, you will get to kill vampires. You hate those bastards, don't you?"

Yuu: "I do!"

Guren: "Then come with me. I'll give you the power you need."

Flashback Over

Now that I think about it, that Guren idiot didn't do a damn thing for the past 4 years. He even got me and Katsumi separated, she was the only person I had left. And to think I told him I wanted to join the vampire annihilation force right away!

The bell rang and the class was over. The rest of the students got up and left for club activities. Civilians are a bunch of milksops. They've already gotten used to 'Rebirth'. Being the capital of the Japanese Empire, Shibuya is strongly fortified. But, that doesn't change the fact that it is swarming with monsters outside.

Shinoa: "Wait! I love ice cream too! So... Why don't we go with the others?"

Yuu: "What's wrong with you? We've only just met."

Shinoa: "Lieutenant Colonel Guren told me that your family was killed by vampires when you were a child and since then, you have a problem socializing because you are afraid you might once again lose some dear to you. You're so scared that you can't bring yourself to make friend, be part of a team, or find a girlfriend. Unless that girl you've been separated from is your girlfriend. What was her name? Oh! Katsumi Miwa was it."

Yuu: "DONT STICK YOUR NOSE IN OTHER PEOPLES AFFAIRS! Stop talking about bullshit and tell the Lieutenant to let me join the vampire annihilation force at once. I've become strong enough to kill that scum."

Shinoa: "The lieutenant knew you would say that and asked me to hand this message over to you. Please read it."

In the army, we have no use for a cherry boy who doesn't know the first thing about friendship, comradeship or love. Try to make at least one friend at school and introduce him to me. Even though I doubt you'll get through with it. And maybe if you finally make a friend you might see Katsumi Miwa again, she's doing a better job than you, she sure has grown into fine women if I do say so myself.
