Star Wars: The Twin Wars

The Base

    They were desending into the resistance base, and people were starting to crowd around. They were all hoping to see the legendary Luke Skywalker. The girls landed the ship and just sat there staring at all of the people. Everyone looked so happy, and they were just going to crush their happiness. "We have to get out of here sometime and confront them." Roni said standing up to leave the room.
    Rey and Nessa sat in silence for a few seconds after Roni left. Nessa feeling guilty said, "This is all my fault, if I didn't follow Ben none of this would have happened."
    Rey looks at Nessa and said, "We don't know that for sure, so we just have to look forward, and hope that this all turns out okay."
    They both get up and head for the door. Roni was waiting in the other room for them. They dropped the hatch and walked out of the ship. Everyone looked confused when they saw Roni and Nessa, other than Luke. Leia runs up to them and stops right in front of them. She has a sad look on her face when she asks, "He's gone, isn't he?" The girls all look down not wanting to tell her the bad news.  "I knew it, I just didn't want to believe it." Leia sadly said.
    Rey said, "I am so sorry, I tried my best to bring him back to you."
    Leia had a soft smile when she said, "I'm pretty sure that it was Luke's doing, that he didn't get to come back." She paused for a second and then continued, "When he set his mind to something, there was no stopping him."
    Roni, tired of being quite, said, "We have brought you a message from Luke."
    Leia looked at Roni and Nessa and asked, "So who are you two?" Obviously curious of why they were there.
    Nessa spoke up this time, "I am Vanessa and this is Veronica." She tried to mention as little information as possible. She wanted Luke's message to tell everyone, not herself.
    Leia really wanted some more information on them, but she just shrugged it off. "Why don't we go inside so we can all see this message from Luke." As soon as Leia said that everyone started to walk to the building that was most likely the command center.
    Once everyone was settled into the large room, Leia took the message from Rey and started it. Once the message finished, everyone's spirits went down. They all knew the cost of this, if this works, its all over in a good way. If it doesn't work, then the darkness will come and stay.
