Hello all! Yes, I'm Orson Krennic trash so here is a fanfiction in which the reader is shipping themselves with Orson Krennic. Don't like the idea? Please don't read then.

There will be no smut (aw poo), as I am very uncomfortable with writing that sort of stuff. I know a lot of reader X character stories have smut (except for a few one shots here and there) so I'm just telling you that if you are reading this for the smut part, there's always Archive of Our Own. Those authors know what they're talking about.

For those of you who have not read a second person story before, or are unfamiliar with the terms I am going to use, here's a quick overview:
(Name) = Your first name
(L/name) = Your last name
(Full name) = Your full name (duh)
(Miss/Mr.) = Title of your choice

Anyway, please enjoy this more or less messed up story! Also, I should be sleeping instead of doing something I will probably get writers block on later and regret starting in the first place.

Disclaimer: I don't own Disney, Lucasfilms, or any partnerships associated with Star Wars and George Lucas and Gareth Edwards.

You glance in the mirror one more time, your fingers toying with your hair until you are positive you look your best. You have one shot at this and there is no way in hell that you are going to blow the opportunity. Grand Moff Tarkin wants to talk to you privately! The last time you had a one-on-one conversation with the Grand Moff was when you came to the Empire for a job interview. Since then, you had never had the chance to hold a one-on-one conversation with Tarkin. It was always in groups, namely services that your legion was being assigned to.

Your friend, Felici Haz, walks up behind you. "For Kriff's sake, (name)! Get going or you're gonna be late and you know how Tarkin is about people being late!"

"I know! I know!" You say hurriedly. You take one more moment to admire yourself in the mirror, assuring yourself that your looks were exactly the way you want it. "Okay, I'm off! Bye!"

"Good luck!" Felici yells after you. "Break a leg!"

You make it to Tarkin's office in the nick of time. Tarkin is standing there behind his desk, a proud smile on his face. Behind him and slightly to Tarkin's left is a man in a white suit and a long white cape trailing behind him. He's younger and shorter than Tarkin by the way his eyes seem to hold a brighter gleam of youth in then, but the frown his face possesses makes him look older.

Tarkin opens his moth. "Ah, welcome, Officer (L/name). I'm glad you could make it."

"Of course, sir," You say. "I wouldn't miss a meeting with you." And you say this because it's true. Though you would rather do something else and avoid the man you despised most of the time, you didn't want to get on Tarkin's bad side. You had nowhere to go if you got fired. Plus, Tarkin mentioned a kind of reward if you came. So of course, you were excited about meeting him because you wanted the reward.

Tarkin nods. "Well then, let's get right to the point, shall we." He takes a step back and motions the younger man next to him forwards. "Officer (L/Name), this is Director Orson Callan Krennic, head of the Advanced Weapons Research Division." The white caped man steps ahead of Tarkin and stands as stiff as a board while Tarkin talks. "He has designed all of the Empire's facilities and even been in charge of overseeing the work done on such projects as the All-Terrein Armored Transports."

You have heard of Director Krennic before. You met him briefly on the first day—your orientation—you came to the Empire but it was just for a simple handshake as you went down the line of officers shaking your hand and saluting you to the ranks of the Empire. That was at least four years ago and you had forgotten what Krennic looked like, especially since you barely got to even get a chance to study his features properly to start with. Yet you have heard of his work and in a way, he has been an idol to you. You can't believe that you're finally meeting him alone, even though Tarkin is there.

Tarkin goes on. "Director Krennic, this is Private (full name). They are one of the best mathematicians in their division and they will be under your apprenticeship for the next year to become a possible future Weapons Researcher if necessary."

Director Krennic's eyes widened, followed briefly by their narrowing. "An apprenticeship? I didn't agree to this!" You jump back, shocked by how angrily his voice shot out. "Of all the things you could have considered giving me, you decided to give me an apprentice!??"

You're not sure whether you should say anything or if you should let the two older men work it out. Tarkin frowns and you decide to go with the second choice. The Moff says "Yes, an apprenticeship. You are aging quickly, Director, and you never know when you might need an extra hand or someone to take up your job should you cease to live one day."

Director Krennic growls. "I have been asking you for workers that were competent of the skills needed to build the weapons, not someone who is just starting from scratch!"

"Director, if you please, I have been the top mathematician of my schools and universities," you say quickly. To work with your idol is a dream, but you just had to convince him it's what was right.

Director Krennic opens his mouth but Tarkin cuts in. "(Miss/Mr.) (L/name)'s skills have been known to almost rival Galen Erso's." You knew Galen Erso. Not personally, unfortunately. He was another one of your idols, as he was the best mathematician, scientist, and theorist of his time.

For a moment, the room seems to be filled with tense air. Then Director Krennic gives in and says "Fine. An apprenticeship, I shall offer to (L/name)." He turns to you. "But first they has to prove to me that they're worth my time to be my apprentice."

"I'll do anything!" You say quickly, maybe almost too quickly. But you're too excited to give a damn. No way are you going to miss an opertunity where you become your idol's apprentice!

"Anything? Fine. Be at my office at 0800 tomorrow. Sharp!" He snaps. He glares at Tarkin before leaving the room, his cape drifting freely after him.

Tarkin shakes his head slowly. "My apologies for Director Krennic's behavior. He is quite unrefined at times. Mind yourself around him."

"Thank you so much," you say. "I appreciate this decision you made so much, Grand Moff." And you do. This is one of those times you actually like Tarkin's guts.

The imperial nods. "I will be checking in with you every week. We'll see how long this offer holds up. Don't become too excited, or it may just end before its started." You salute as you agree to the terms. Then Tarkin dismisses you.

You walk back down the hall to the computer lab where you work along with hundreds of others who calculate the numbers needed to run the Star Destroyers smoothly. It's a good thing your feet know the way to the lab automatically. Your mind has drifted elsewhere.

An apprenticeship with Orson Krennic! Wow!

Welp. I hope you enjoyed the first chapter! I have no idea where I'm going with this though so it'll be interesting.
