Macy
Today is Monday, a new week and a fresh start. My mother woke me up bright and early for school and I clumsily rolled out of bed.
I put on my school uniform on, which is merely just a maroon polo shirt and a matching gingham skirt, along with my uniform I wore my long white socks and tan Sperries.
I rushed down stairs and poured Frosted Mini-Wheats and 2% milk into a bright blue bowl, my typical school breakfast.
Jake quickly followed me down the long spiraled staircase. He took a hard boiled egg out of the fridge and ate in two bites. We brushed our teeth together and as soon as we were both ready we got into his black Honda and he drove us off to school. Jake is top in his class so he earned a free student parking spot which is why we get the luxury of driving everyday rather than taking the worn down yellow school bus.Once we arrived I met with my best friend Sydney, who's brother is also my brother's best friends. Her crush has been absent for the past couple days because he he's "sick" in Aruba.
As she kept talking on and on about him I began to drift off into my own thoughts. I keep thinking about the girl on the bench, I don't know what about her but something just pulls me in.Soon the bell rang gesturing the start of school and everyone rushed into the big door, I waited a while so I wouldn't be crushed by the overwhelming amount of people stuffed inside the small walls at once.
The school day went by relatively quickly and as soon as I knew it the obnoxious school bells rang dismissing everyone.
I met Jake at the back of school by the teal recycling bins, and he dropped me off and left for his hockey practice.
Outside the leaves were a nice auburn color, and everything seemed so fresh. I grabbed my new guitar and decided to go for a walk by the city and park, which is normally around 9 miles away but Jake showed me a shortcut a while ago that cuts the distance in half. As I was walking the leaves were falling from the surrounding trees and it was inspirational.
My father works downtown by the park anyway and he'll be able to bring me home.
There I found a nice peachy park bench right by the big lemon tree, I pulled out the shiny black guitar from the new leather case. I began tuning it and from the corner of my eye a girl sat beside me.
AlexIs that Rayne's guitar?
I saw the distinct gold design. A girl was sitting on a park bench looking down at it, not knowing the man behind it, not knowing the true value of it. I want to talk to her.
I sat beside her, "Hey I'm Alex" I smiled. She grinned back "I'm Macy, nice to meet you." She was wearing a St. John's Uniform, in other words the white privileged school of Nashville.
"How long have you been playing the guitar?"
"Well, as of now 2 days." She laughed.
"Really? Are you getting lessons or will you teach yourself?""Well, I'm not sure yet, we're currently looking at different prices for different teachers. Most likely I'll teach myself because my parents rarely seem to follow through on anything involving me."
This could be my opportunity, maybe Rayne's guitar won't be forever lost.
"Well, I've been playing for a couple years, if you ever need lessons or tricks I could do it for free." Her eyes lit up and her smile beamed.
"That would be great!" Her radiant smile showed her dimples which were surrounded by freckles scattered across her blushed face.
"We could meet here every Monday if that would work with you." She nodded her head and we shaked hands and exchanged numbers.
I began to teach her how to properly tune the guitar and use the different keys. She was very patient and kind, and not going to lie, she was attractive too. She had soft hazel eyes, a petite button nose, long wavy light brown hair, and a soothing voice.
Soon her father walked out from a snobby business building. I tried to politely introduce myself but he completely brushed me off. I decided not to take it personally, because he was kind of cold to Macy as well. We waved goodbye and I headed back home.
maybe this is my purpose.
