25rd December.

11-ish am

I woke to the sound of Beau calling my name.

"Fine, I'll be ready in a second!" My voice cracking as I screamed.

'Sweet, yet another thing for them to tease me about' I thought.

I wasn't at all excited about Christmas; all I could think about was how badly I'd messed things up between Courtneigh and me. It was the only thing I had thought about since it happened. And just for the record, no… She didn’t reply to me, that's how I know I had seriously fucked up this time.

I splashed cold water over my face and stared in the mirror briefly. I looked at how withdrawn and miserable I looked. I practiced my happy face, over and over, hoping it might at least fool my mum.

I took a deep breath and slowly made my way into the living room to find everyone holding gifts.

 ****Jai's POV****

Luke walked into the living room and instantly I knew something wasn't right. Call it a twin thing but there was just something in the way he looked at us all.

"About fucking time" Beau complained, he threw a box at Luke and tore at the paper covering his own present.

I just stared at Luke a little longer, trying to read his expression, trying to, as if by magic, understand what he was thinking. He looked so happy but something was really off and it seemed to be that only I noticed it.

Luke kept looking at a gift bag placed beside the TV and that's when I realised he hadn’t given Courtneigh her gift. I wonder why not?

  **** Courtneigh's POV*****

I swung my legs off of my bed. Mum had gone into complete lock down.

I found out why mum was so worried when she heard about Martin showing up.

Apparently this Martin dude that showed up at my house was actually my dad. They''d divorced because my dad was having an affair. He'd even tried to get full custody of me, claiming my mum was a bad parent, which is why we eventually moved to Australia.

But the reason we may as well of had iron bars on our windows was because he'd sent a letter telling my mum, basically, that even on the other side of the world she couldn't escape the truth blah blah blah.

So I went down to the main living quarters of the prison and sighed.

The room was dark, curtains were pulled shut, and my mum was hushing Matthew as he excitedly opened his gifts. I grabbed my phone and decided to text Luke, I don't know why but we hadn't spoken in the past couple of days, Maybe he was still a bit embarrassed?

Literally instantly I realised I hadn’t replied to Luke's text, I felt really guilty.

'To: Luke

From: Courtneigh

Hi Luke! Sorry about not replying to your text, I must have forgotten :(

But I hope you have a really nice Christmas :) xxx '

Let's just hope Luke isn't too pissed off with me :/

A/N :- Okay so I know this is quite a shit chapter, but I really felt like I needed to get another one out there soon. Also it's becoming really difficult as I'm, sad to say it, suffering megga writers block and it's stressing me out to the point where I can't be bothered to write anymore, haha. I am definitely going to try and finish this story though. Please just be patience with my super slow updates as writing isn't entirely at the top of my agenda anymore.

Also I DIDN'T proof read this so there are probably so many mistakes in there, omg.

Again, Thankyou for reading and I will theoretically see you again very soon <(^.^)<
