25th December
****Luke's POV****
I kept glancing at the gift bag that remained by the TV, I had meant to give it to Courtneigh but since that incident at her house she hadn't replied to my texts.
I was sure she probably wanted absolutely nothing to do with me, and I wouldn’t blame her.
I kept mentally kicking myself for running away like that. It was then I noticed Jai looking at me, a weird look on his face.
"Hey, why do you keep staring…?" I grumbled as I uninterestedly peeled the wrapping paper from Beau's gift.
"Are you feeling alright?" those were the first words Jai had spoken to me since I woke up and I'd be lying if I said it didn’t shock me,
"Of course, why wouldn't I be okay?" and still there remained a look of concern on his face…
I guess there's no escaping his understanding of me, and still I refused to give in.
Just then, my phone buzzed. Faster than I could even think about my actions I grabbed my phone and unlocked it. I exhaled sharply at the name appearing on my phone. Courtneigh…

Hi Luke! Sorry about not replying to your text, I must have forgotten :(
But I hope you have a really nice Christmas :) xxx '
I decided it would probably be easier to ring her phone, but maybe she didn’t want to talk to me, I'm sure she'd be spending the time with her mum and cousin…. I'll just text her.

It's going all right I guess… How's yours? Xxxxx '
Within seconds my phone buzzed again

Why's that?? Smile!! Its Christmas haha, Anyway, it can't be as bad as mine. I'm so bored!! :( xxxxx '
Without realising it, a grin slowly crept onto my face, going not unnoticed by Jai
"Now you look like you're actually enjoying Christmas. What did she say?" Jai said totally indifferently. God, he knows me too well…
"Oh, also before the day is over, you might want to give her that present you've had hidden by the TV for the past week…" Jai motioned towards the gift bag with a slight side nod of his head.
"Woah! You still haven't given it to her?!" Beau exclaimed, seemingly confused.
"I just guess I haven’t had the time…" I made my excuses before making my decision.

Hey, I have something for you, if you're not too busy could we meet up, it doesn't have to be right now of course, but maybe a little bit later? Xxxxx '
after sending my text a sudden wave of anxiety crashed over me, my stomach twisting with nervousness.

I bit my lip and glanced over at my mum who was playing with Matthew and some of his toys, even though he looked like he was having a whale of a time, I could still see the worry etched onto my mum's face. I felt trapped inside my own home!
As selfish at it was, I just needed to escape, I needed room to breathe! My mum's constant worry and panic every time the door knocked was sending me crazy, not seeing Luke for so long has also left me a little lonely.
Heaving a heavy, guilty sigh, I take one last glance at my mum and reply to Luke

A/N:
I'm so glad I finally pulled myself together and updated this story!
I haven't had very much time recently to write very much so it's probably pretty rusty... But hey ho...
