Oh My God, I finished ACOWAR last week and it was amazing!!! So many plot twists.
And dont worry there are no spoilers in this fanfic or anything, considering that my story is obviously going a completely different direction to the actual book😊😀 What did you guys think of it?
Hope you enjoy the chapter

Aelin

Aelin swung forwards, the chains the only thing keeping her upright as her legs gave out. It had been since Maeve and Cairn left, a welcome reprieve from the almost non-stop beatings from the night before. Aelin was sure most of her would be covered in nasty bruises within a few hours.

Since Maeve had discovered that she did not have the keys, she had been punched, kicked and beaten almost non-stop, by Cairn and the guards. They had only stopped when one's knuckles became bloody and they switch tormentors. Over and over the cycle had gone, until a few hours ago when Maeve had arrived with Feyre.

Aelin had first felt a pressure in the back of her head, then memories began surfacing. Ones she had buried, like that last night with her parents, and new memories, ones she had made with Rowan, and Aedion and Lysandra.

More and more memories flowed, and Aelin was helpless to stop them, so she let them, thankful for just a few hours rest, even if she was chained and locked in a dungeon.

Some small part of Aelins pain-addled mind she knew that Feyre was the cause of the flood of memories, and an even smaller part knew that she was searching for something.

The keys, Aelins head snapped up as the realization dawned on her, she was searching for the keys in her memories. No, no, no, no, she could let Maeve have them. Her mind scrambled for a solution, some way to stop the memories from flowing. She imagined closing a door. And for a moment it had worked, the memories stopped, Feyre's eyes cleared instantly like she had been lost in thought. Aelin's thoughts to be exact. But the door didn't stay closed, it opened as if on a breeze and the memories continued, this time there seemed to be an order to them.

She tried again this time imagining a shield, not unlike the one Rowan had made that night on the beach. As the shield began to take form in her mind, she strengthened it with ice and fire, filling in the gaps and sealing those precious memories away.

Then the memories really did stop flowing and Feyre let out a surprised gasp as she slammed into the shield.

'How did you do that?' she asked, a bit breathless. Aelin didn't answer, mostly because she didn't know herself. 'A shield that strong takes practice,' Feyre continued, 'Have you been trained by a daemati?' Feyre appeared to be studying Aelin, her eyes flickering over her body, as if it gave some clue. All Aelin managed was a slight shake of her head, to exhausted both mentally and physically.

A shadow came over Feyre's face as if a realization had dawned on her, she opened her mouth to speak again, but the door to the cell flew open, and Maeve glided into the damp room.

'What do you have for me, where are my keys?'
