So I thought maybe taking a plot to Shay's life. If you want to see more of his, comment, or if you just want to see Linstead, comment and let me know. I don't know what y'all are thinking, so help me out here. Thanks!!

After dropping his little brother and sister off at their school, he drove to his high school. Shay walked in, and with his dark hair and clothes like his father, he was always teased. They called him a pig, and always made him out to be some rat that snitched on everyone so he had almost no friends. Although, he had one close friend.

They'd been friends since 5th grade.

"Shay! You're here early!!!" Addie shouted across the hallway.

"I guess, I just felt really excited about today! I'm ready to tell my parents," Shay stated.

"Me too," Addie stated.

"I think they'll like you. I mean, they've known you since you were what, 10?"

"Yeah," Addie let out a small laugh.

That night, Shay brought Addie home to dinner with the whole family.

"Shay, you brought Addie," Jay stated.

"I guess we better set an extra spot," Erin exclaimed, "how are you, Addie?"

"Good, Mrs. Halstead."

"That's good, so what brings you here? Did something happen with your parents, again?"

"No, I mean, yeah, but that's all fine," Addie diverted the question.

"Really, I can go over there and do something. You say the word and I'll flash my badge."

"Dad, you're retired."

"I still have strings I can pull," Jay explained.

"Yeah, you forget, we were two badass detectives, at least up until we had you. You softened us you little brat," Erin laughed.

"Mom, Dad, I brought Addie over to tell you guys something," Shay started.

"You're dating? Finally!" Erin exclaimed.

"Okay, I'm guessing you're fine with it then," Addie came to a conclusion.

"Of course we are, we all love you here. You're like the daughter I never had," Jay smiled.

"But, Jay, you have a daughter," Erin smirked.

"Okay, you're family," Jay corrected.

"Thanks, Mr. Halstead." Addie smiled.

"You can call me Jay. It's fine."

"You know, back in the day...," Erin started.

"Mom, we don't want to hear those stories, right now."

"Back in the day, Jay and I weren't even supposed to be dating, we went against all rules. Then we broke up, and that's when all the fun began. We had you, and that's when Hank finally approved of us."

"Wait! Hank didn't approve of you two?" Shay asked.

"No, of course not," Erin stated.

"Holy crap, he must've had a cow!!!" Shay exclaimed.

"More like 3 or 4. All of the crap we put him through, it's amazing he's still alive," Jay laughed.

"Anyways, I guess what I'm saying, is that even when it feels the world is against you, you always have someone on your side. Even if it's just your parents, your boyfriend, girlfriend, friend. Whoever it may be, they're on your side," Erin explained.

Erin called down the twins and brought Thea down.
