Another few weeks pass by and the relationship between Addie and Shay progress, meanwhile Erin's hand heals up nicely. She has progressively slept better and better with every night that passes, yet she still struggles to fall asleep. Jay has only worried more about her, yet not as much as she's worrying about the children. Noah and Nicole are perfectly healthy and smart children, they go to school, they come home, they listen. And Thea is just absolutely adorable. She has an adorable personality, very giggly and bright.
And then something happened. Something terrible, heartbreaking, sad. It broke Erin's spirit and nearly killed her... here's how what happened:
~~~~~~
Erin got up one morning and headed toward the kitchen. She grabbed a cup of coffee immediately felt terrible. It wasn't settling right.
Jay noticed and questioned her about it.
"I'm fine, Jay. It's nothing," Erin lied. In reality, she knew that feeling. She knew it all too well. It just wasn't possible. She didn't know how to feel about what she thought was happening.
"You're lying, what's wrong?" Jay interrogated.
"I'll tell you later, when the kids are gone," Erin explained.
"What are you gonna share when I'm gone?" Shay interrupted.
"Nothing, just an idea for a vacation...?" Erin lied again.
"Yeah, okay. I'm off to school, bye y'all, love you!" Shay exclaimed as he left.
As he left, Erin pulled Jay close, "I'm not sure how to feel about this. I'm not even sure if I'm right, but if I am..."
She laughed oddly, like she was worried or scared even, but still happy.
"If I'm right, we're about to add one more Brady to the bunch," Erin sat down.
"Why do you think so?" Jay questioned, sitting next to her, grabbing her hand.
"When I was pregnant with Thea, the coffee, man, I just couldn't drink it. It would make me feel awful, and when I took just a sip, I felt that way. I just have a feeling..., I'll go to the doctor as soon as possible and find out," Erin explained.
"I wouldn't mind another kid, I love all of our children. And we have the money, and we have a guest room, easily turned into a baby room. I'm excited for it to happen, if it does. If it doesn't, then it wasn't meant to be, it'll all be okay, babe, don't worry," Jay consoled. He kissed her forehead as he stood up. "I'm meeting my brother for breakfast, I'll be back as soon as possible, don't worry babe."
"I'm not worried. Have a good breakfast, see ya later, love you," she replied as he left.
Erin went upstairs and got the kids ready and left as well. She dropped them off with Kim for the morning and went to buy a pregnancy test. She bought 2 of each kind and took each and every one of them. All said positive. She drove to the hospital and begged, pleaded, and waited for a doctor to see her and test her blood. She rushed the results and it was 100% positive that she was pregnant.
She picked up the kids on her way home and met Jay at the front door. "It's happening."
That's all she said. She carried Thea in while the other two ran inside and straight for their toys. She set Thea down in a play pen and sat down on the couch. Jay sat down next to her, unsure of what to say or do.
Then out of no where, she burst into tears. Crying harder than she'd ever had before.
Shay walked in and was so confused as to why his mother was crying, so he offered to take the twins and Thea and go and get some ice cream.
Jay pulled Erin into his chest, "I don't know what's wrong baby, but I'm here and I love you. And you don't have to talk, babe, just know it'll all be okay."
And so she didn't talk, she just cried and eventually fell asleep...
-----
A few weeks later, Erin had come to terms with the pregnancy, she started to actually get excited about it. She was looking forward to greeting another baby.
As she was walking up the steps, she felt a slight pain in her lower abdomen. She thought nothing of it, just a little cramp. But as the pain grew, she began to worry. She called Jay's name and he came running. They rushed to the hospital and the doctor assumed miscarriage. When they did the actual ultrasound though, they found out that it wasn't, it was merely just some normal bleeding and some normal cramping. At least they thought. He ordered her to take it easy and they left the hospital.
Y'all, sorry this sucks! I've been busy but trying to update more! Thanks for being so patient! Excited for One Chicago on Wednesday!!!!
