After a while of silence, Amy asked, "where are your siblings?"
"They're sleeping, but I think Jude is still playing with his toys."
She heaved a large sigh and slumped down on the bed, Simon joining her. He held her hands for a while, and looked at the spots, the scars and the callouses. Amy was still pretty young for her age, she should have been enjoying life and not be like this, in this state that his horrible father was treating her, treating them all. Sometimes, he even wondered whether that was his real father, and the thought of him made his fingers clench to a fist. His mother yelped.
"I'm so sorry mom, I didn't mean to do that," he said. He stroked his mother's fingers, and she relaxed once more.
The door opened, and Luke came in. Simon and his mother gave a start, and the latter started trembling. It wasn't really obvious, but Simon could feel it, since he was holding her hands. He tensed, ready for a fight, and drew his mother closer to him protectively. Luke noticed this and narrowed his eyes.
"Get ready. We are going to a function," he looked at his watch, "In about an hour. Ready your children."
''Alright. We'll be ready by then."
Luke walked out the door.
Mother and son looked at each other. The conversation was brief, but they could feel the barely restrained tension. It was as if anyone could lash out anytime, and it was likely to be the father.
Amy loosened the unconscious grip she had on her son. She flexed her fingers. Enough time had been wasted already.
"Go on Simon," she said. "Wake your siblings and ready them. Hurry."
Simon did as he was told.
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹The family, if you could call them that, set out exactly an hour and ten minutes later. The limo was silent, the woman being scared to start a conversation, the man in a bad mood, tapping away at his tablet computer, and the children, all but one, minding their businesses.
Jess, the youngest of all, suddenly started shifting in her seat. A foul smell rose in the confines of the car. Luke slowly, very slowly, turned his head to the last born.
Amy trembled and drew close to Simon, holding his arm tightly.
"What," Luke started, "happened here?"

With work, school, home and even *clears throat* a teeny weeny bit of laziness, I've not been able to update my stories. I do hope you enjoyed the chapter though. Any ideas of what will happen next?
I'm not proud of this chapter. I mean, I didn't even pass the 300 word count. *hides face in shame*. I promise that the next chapter will contain a lot more action, and drama. Vote and comment, just a tap on that orange star there.
I want to get to know my readers, and I'm sure you'll want to know bits about me, so every chapter, I'll be dropping random questions. Feel free to comment an answer!
Question: what is\are your favourite colours? Mine are blue and black. Reasons? I like seeing them on faces *cue witchy laugh* but really. Its nice on faces, right?
The update will be very soon guys. Until then, adiós!
