Day 16
THEY are coming... I hear them outside my house every day. THEY scratch on the door but THEY will never open it, THEY are too stupid... But THEY seem to be smart enough to immitate my wife, but I won't fall for it, HA! "Open the door George, it's just me, Veronica." THEY say, the creatures immitating my dead wife. I've locked myself inside my house, ever since THEY came. They are all over the streets, walking around, pretending to be normal people. But I know better than to fall for their tricks. Sshh... can you hear that? THEY are back, knocking on my door... hmm? It's a different one this time."Open the door mr. My name is Philippe Blanc, I'm a doctor at the local mental institute. Your wife called me, she's worried for your mental health. She says that you have hallucinations and that you seem to think that the world is taken over by creatures that killed everyone." It says. I hissed back, "go away. I know who you really are. You can't fool me." But it wont go away, damnit. "Monsieur, do you know how long you've been locked inside your house? You've been in there for three months monsieur." The so called doctor says.
"AND I HAVE NO PLANS TO GET OUT OF HERE UNTIL I'VE KILLED ALL OF YOU BASTARDS!!! I KNOW WHO YOU REALLY ARE 'MR. BLANC'!!" I yelled.Another voice, Veronicas voice.
"George, please, open the door. Dr. Blanc is here to help you. George, you're ill. You are mentally ill. Philippe is here to help you. Please, open the door so he can help you. What you are seeing, all these... creatures... they're all in your head." It says, as if I'm gonna fall for it.I walk over to the door and look through the peephole, something I haven't done until now. Outside stands.... my wife, or rather, the creature pretending to be my wife. And a man who looks to be in his mid 30s. That must be the creature who pretends to be a doctor. They look so convincing, as if it is my beautiful wife standing out there. It is so convincing that I almost want to open the door. That is the exact reason I won't. If I do, they'll get me, and I won't let that happen.
The "doctor" speaks up, with his false heavy french accent."Monsieur Ashton, please. I'm here to help you. You see, you are not the only one who thinks the world is taken over by creatures. Last week we took in a man who had isolated himself from the outer world because he thought the same as you. At the end, the poor soul gouged his eyes out. What you are experiencing is the cause of your isolation, away from other people for so long that you've started to go insane. This might happen when people, like you, lock themself away from the outside world."
I didn't believe him. Well, maybe the part about that other man. That other man seemed to be a very smart man, another one who saw through their tricks. "Go away!" I yelled at them. I heard Veronica sigh. "George... we'll go for now, ok? But we're coming back tomorrow." It said. I looked through the peephole again and saw the two creatures walk away.
Day 17
They did come back today. Saying that I'm hallucitating etc etc. But I've got a plan, a plan to get rid of them. I'm going to let them in. Let them believe that they won. But they will not suspect the trap I've set up. I've got my gun in my pocket as I write this. I'm going to shoot them, that should kill them, right? I don't know what can harm these creatures but it is worth a try. My whole plan goes alittle like this.
First I'll let them come in, I'll smile and say that I'll accept the institutes help. I'll ask them to come into the livingroom to talk about my "mental disease". Then, I'll shoot them.
They said they'd be back in ten minutes, so now... they'll be here in one minute.Oh, they are here. "Monsieur, please open the door." It's Dr. Blanc. Ok, now it's time. I slowly unlock and open the door. But here my plan took a turn, I thought that it would only be the doctor and Veronica. But there stands two more creatures, who also look like doctors. And on the driveway stands a van, the kind our towns mental institute uses. Well, screw it. Two more creatures wont hurt, it'll be two more creatures gone. I smile. "I have decided to accept the institutes help." I say. Dr. Blanc looks slightly shocked but also glad. "I'm glad you decided to trust us monsieur Ashton." He said. "Please, call me George." I say. "Please, come in. So we can talk about this metall illness I seem to have." This far the plan goes well. Veronica embraces me in a hug. "I'm so glad you finally decided to trust Dr. Blanc." It says.
They all came inside and I took them to the living room. Time to get rid of them. I'll update later.
Day 19
I shot the creature pretending to be my wife. I thought that when it died it'd go back to it's true form, like in the movies. But nothing happend, except that the two other doctors rushed over to me, and stunned me with a stungun. They then injected something into my arm, probably something to make me sleep, because shortly after I passed out.
When I woke up I were in an madrassed cell with a straightjacket on. I was at the institute, in the section for the really insane people.
It took some time, but I finally got them to give me paper and pen to write this down. But they refused to take off my straightjacket. So I'm writing this with my mouth.
The creature looking like this Dr. Blanc visits me everyday. Trying to convince me that he is a human. I'm running out of space on the paper and it's the only one I have. So this is goodbye I guess. But this is a warning, watch out for THEM, for they won't hesitate to kill you and take your place.Dr. Blanc smiled and shook his head as he read George Ashtons journals. Just like the other man, Ashton thought there were creatures taking over the world. "Just alittle more time, and he'll be convinced he's wrong. That everything is normal and that he killed his wife... that we took care of three months ago." Dr. Blanc said as he walked towards George Ashtons cell.
