The four mares trotted across town without a moments hesitation. The closer the came to the Trail of Night, the more the area thinned out of ponies. As the exited the perimeter of the town and made their way across a wide open field, the sky suddenly began to get darker and darker.

Trees began to dot the area around them until they were in a forest covered in shade.

Breeze's heart began to beat faster as they neared the entrance to an even thicker part of the forest where the Trail of Night would start.

Why is this bad feeling becoming bigger the closer we get? Breeze thought as they carefully trotted through the forest. As the ponies neared the area, they started to slow down when they heard voices. Feather stopped, causing the other mares to freeze. Their ears perked up as the voice became clearer.

"Is this the right path?" A stallions voice said.

"Yes." another replied.

Feather carefully gestured for the mares to follow her as she crept forward. They split from the dirt path and into the brush so that they wouldn't be spotted. Breeze trailed behind as a feeling of dread overcame her.

"We should go." She whispered, trying to warn her friends, but they weren't listening to her. Reluctantly, she followed them until they were close enough to hear whoever was talking.

The four mares peeked over a bush only to see the entrance to the Trail of Night, shrouded in darkness. Standing at the entrance of the Trail was the stallion Feather talked to, Toffee, and another stallion with a snow white coat and blue and white hair.

The mare's eyes widened and Feather, Cloud and Mocha turned to Breeze who was staring in fear at the pony in sight.

"I told you guys." Feather whispered. "That one there is Toffee. I don't know who the other one is though but..."

"He looks exactly like Breeze." Cloud commented.

"We need to go." Breeze whispered, backing away in fright. However, she wasn't watching where she was stepping and a twig snapped under her hoof.

Everything seemed to become silent as the six ponies froze, the mares in fear and the stallions in alert.

"One of them...is here." Toffee stated as he took a step towards the bush the mares were hiding behind.

"Not just one..." The other stallion that looked like breeze said. "There's another...I can feel her presence."

What?! Breeze looked at the other mares in question before she started to back away.

"Come out!" Toffee shouted.

At that, the mares all had the same idea.

To run.

Without having to warn each other, all four of them bolted. They galloped as fast as they could away from the stallions who seemed to be coming after them.

Ahead the mares could see the brightened field they had traveled across. With another burst of speed, they all broke through the tree line, but they didn't stop there. They galloped across the field, trying to get away from the stallions that were no longer following them.

"Hurry!" Mocha said. "Let's go back to my place!" Without another word to each other, they galloped through town, dodging every pony who could only look on in shock.

They made it to Mocha's house and burst through the door, locking and barricading it with large furniture. They climbed the steps to Mocha's room where they did the same thing to that door.

Finally, the ponies sat down, exhausted from their run.

"What..." Cloud huffed. "What was that all about?"

With trembling hooves, Breeze made her way to the window and glanced out of it before closing the curtain.

"It was him..." She breathed.

"Who?" Mocha asked.

"The one from my dream." Breeze looked at the girls with a worried face. "It was him..."
