Second year at this bootleg private school and I already hated most of the staff. However, I had to keep my cool. Even though most of them were middle aged women who were probably near menopause, I had to pretend that life was perfect. Those women were full of bullshit and are in constant misery.

I hated how the system worked here at school. I mean my pay was fairly great but I didn't like how we were supposed to "teach."

I honestly don't get how Lucas Douglass is still teaching here. He hardly does anything. Every time I go to the History Department, I see him sitting at his desk, browsing on his laptop while laughing. Lucas never does anything beneficial for the students- or at least that's how I feel.

One day as I was printing out copies for the test, Lucas barged into the Math department office. Startled, I stumbled into the massive commercial printer.

"Can you stop being clumsy for once? No wonder why these students can never take you seriously, especially your lover..." Lucas snickered.

I growled, "What do you want?" Keeping eye contact while waiting for the papers, Lucas slowly approached me.

"You know, I've been hearing some things about you and Mr. Pendals." His voice trailed.

"How is he my lover?!"

He chuckled, "Whoa, whoa now." Putting his hands in the air in terms of defense, "Hold your horses now Daniel. I was just going to explain."

I rolled my eyes and nodded for him to continue.

"Anyhow, you see, Mrs. Edna told me that you two been really close lately. Its making her uncomfortable as well as some other staffs. To elaborate, she said that about two weeks ago the room 503 was extremely loud during the morning before advisory started. She couldn't figure out why there were noises so she decided to go near the door and that's when she saw you two fucking each other." After Lucas was done ranting, he let out a long sigh and rubbed his temples as a usual habit. Then, he placed his hands in his baggy jeans.

I began to tap my foot uncontrollably. Lucas' glance shifted from my eyes to my foot.

"You okay bud?" He asked with suspicion in his tone.

"Y-Yeah. I'm just use to tapping my feet to the metronome cause you know, I'm a drummer." I shrugged, trying to pretend that it was nothing.

He breathed in and let out a long sigh again, "I don't know man, I don't know. I'm just saying...I mean- its hard to believe that you and Mr. Pendals would do such a thing. Ugh!" He shuttered from the thought.

"Pssh, yeah I know right? Why would she find my relationship to Mr. Pendals 'uncomfortable'?" I asked with annoyance in my voice.

"Look, I don't know man. Maybe she just doesn't like the two of you or somethin'. Just watch your backs and hope that she doesn't snitch. That's all I'ma say." Lucas scratched his head then walked out the office.

Silence hung in the air. The only noise in the room was the printer beeping, letting me know that the papers were all printed out.

As I grabbed for the thick stack of papers, I felt the familiar warmth. But then a sudden prick stung my finger, "Fuck!" I muttered. It was a stupid paper cut. Great, this is not a good sign.

When I walked out of the room and headed towards my desk with my fresh copy of paper, I saw a note left on the desk. I began to suck on my pinky to stop the bleeding and read the yellow sticky note.

Daniel, when you have the time, please head to the Engineering Department.

I need you to help me with some ideas on what project I should do next for the students that relates to some Algebra.
