LAST TIME:

Without thinking, Harry supposed it was to confuse him, Harry leant forwards and quickly kissed the teacher softly before walking off, leaving the stunned Professor stood in the middle of the corridor, his normally stony face confused.

The next morning, The Phoenix and Rebels were found at a separate table to all of the other students, murmuring to each other, all looking concerned. Alex, Ron and Hermione had had enough of their mysteriousness as some of the group had yet to introduce themselves. As the trio thought that they were above all others, they decided it was up to them to ask, despite the warnings.

"Phoenix," Alex was the one to speak. The hall was silent as the students and teachers watch the situation play out. "I need to speak with you in private without your," he scrunched up his nose in disgust, "company." Phoenix laughed softly and agreed.

Once in the hall, away from the rest of the school however, the turned on him and began to throw hexes at him. They watched in shock as Harry simply batted them away as though they were flies annoying him. He didn't even use his wand!

Sadly for the 'Golden Trio', Professor Snape had walked out of the hall, hearing a small commotion.

"Potter, Weasley, Granger, 50 points from Gryffindor for trying to hex someone who is simply trying to protect you."

"But sir, it wasn't me! Harry,"

"Phoenix." Harry growled.

"Attacked me, Ron and Hermione!" Harry scoffed and the professor looked sceptical. Ron and Hermione, always eager to please, nodded in confirmation.

"All three of you, detention with me tonight for lying to a teacher even after they saw what happened.

No one had noticed Talon and Blizzard watching the whole thing smirking. They had been worried Phoenix would kill the trio, so they had followed. Alex turned red and threw a hex at the potions master that sent him crashing into a wall. Phoenix walked over to him quickly, slightly less worried once he saw the man was only knocked out.

At this point, the whole school had been watching. They knew their teacher was in safe hands as the leader of their protectors carried him to the Hospital Wing. The rest of The Phoenix smiled as some of the old Harry was coming back when he was looking after the black haired 'dungeon bat'.

McGonagall turned to the headmaster who was stood there not doing anything.

"Aren't you going to do anything Albus? No detentions for hexing a teacher? Is it just because he's Alex? I swear Albus, if he doesn't get punished, I'm going to leave my post and you can find a replacement teacher after the school term has started!" Many of the students applauded the teacher once she had finished.

"Fine. Alex, you have a detention with me tomorrow night." Some were shocked that it was only one. If they had done that, they could have been expelled. "Someone please tell Harry that he also has a detention with me tomorrow night." This caused a ripple of laughter to spread through the small group gathered on the stairs.

"I'm quite afraid Albus, I won't be having any detention with any teacher while at this school." No one had noticed Harry was back from the Hospital Wing. "I didn't think I was a student and Albus?" Albus turned to face the young man, "My name is Phoenix, you don't have the right to call me by my birth name."

"Now now child..." Albus threw a curse at him to try and emphasise his point. A sharp inhale of breath could be heard throughout the corridor. Phoenix however, didn't seem phased at all and just simply bated the spell away with the back of his hand.

"Not smart Albus." he hissed. In retaliation, he threw curse after curse at the headmaster and Albus was unable to dodge all of them in time.

By the end of his onslaught, Albus was lay on the floor, cuts and bruises all over his body. Even his beard was singed.
