"Have you ever just thought about...everything?" I asked myself. It was the middle of the night and I was talking to myself as I was lying in bed.
"Sometimes, I just crave extra warmth from heavy arms wrapped around my waist. And a peck on the forehead to lock me in..so I know I'm safe. I wanna feel the steady breathing...right on my neck. And I wanna know what it's like to smile constantly because there's one idiot, but he's your idiot, and he makes you smile all the time..." I sat up in my bed, suddenly thirsty.
I slid a t-shirt on over my sports bra and slipped my feet into my sandals as I headed downstairs to grab a glass of water.
After I was relieved of parchment, I headed back upstairs.
As quickly as I had turned my lights off, I turned them back on due to a pecking at my window.
I looked down only to find...David?
"Lina, oh Lina, let down your hair!" he shouted.
"What did I tell you about stereotypes?" I questioned him.
"Oops...can I come in?" he asked.
"Why?" I replied without thinking. Mental face palm. Why am I so stupid. No need for that to be a question. It's obviously a statement.
"Haha," I stifled a laugh, "kidding. Yeah, go to the front door. I'll let you in."
Soon enough, David was in my bedroom, chilling in my egg chair as I sat upright in my bed.
"Coke or Pepsi?" he asked.
"Coke, by far!" I replied, smiling.
"What? No way. You totally look like a Pepsi girl!" he said in shock and laughter.
"Ask another!" I threw a pillow at him, playfully.
"Okay, okay," he caught a breath, "hmm...lasagna or pizza?"
Food? "Is there a third choice?" I asked cautiously.
"No! Why? Not big on Italian food?" he laughed.
"Uhm...pizza.." I mentally gagged.
"Well, now I know where I'll take you on our first date," he stood and walked toward me, falling into my bed. His body was then in front of mine, warmth radiating from it. He was smiling even though I hadn't said anything.
"Why are you smiling?" I asked in all seriousness.
"Because...I'm here with you," he said slowly with a smile. His teeth dazzled upon his face and contrasted against his carmel skin.
I yawned and asked him to turn off the lights as I flipped myself over in bed. As my eyes closed, I was greeted by chills that had come across my arms from the electric touch of David. His arms wrapped around my delicate waist and he kissed the back of my head.
"Everything is perfect..."
I finished the perfect story for English, wishing it was real. Hahaha. Real good imagination Lina. You must get that from your dad.
I munched on my granola bar as I put the finished story in my English folder seeing as how lunch had ended.
"Woah," gasped Lexi as she watched me finished. She was a total geek; she had braces, glasses, gnatty hair, but totally cute clothes, so everyone thought she was just a hipster. "I don't think I've ever seen you get so into a story ever!"
"Eh, what can I say? They just get..better and better.." I slowed down as David Romano had just bumped into me, sending my English work all over the floor. FUCK.
He, being the nice guy he is, instantly bent down to help me. I first grabbed my story so he wouldn't know about it, then I grabbed the rest that I could. He put everything back and apologized as he walked away, his clique instantly questioning if he knew me.
"What was that about? Do you know her? David!?" Stephanie shouted as they walked away.
All I could think about was that he noticed me. I just wanted this day to end considering it was the last day of school.
I walked into English, and proudfully turned in my summer romance story, anticipating to receive my perfect grade on the first day of senior year.
"You look quite impressed with your story Miss. Catalina. How do you feel about it? Mr. Locke asked me.
"I feel like it's my best story yet, sir!" I smiled, making him smile too.
"I've been impressed with your work all year. It's been a pleasure," he smiled.
