It was just heavy breathing.... They stayed still for quite some time. Frozen in fear. As if one noise could kill them all.
It felt like years until they decided to do something. "RUN!" Olivia shouted turning around and punching whatever was behind them.There was a loud thud followed by a grunt. Olivia grabbed Manny's hand and took over running. The necklace that hung on their necks still glowed brightly. He was somehow still behind them.
A silent runner.
All during this process Manny was crying, and it's safe to say Olivia wanted to as well. But she had to focus and keep them alive.
She squinted her eyes but could only see a few inches ahead of herself, due to the lack of light. "WE'RE gonna die!!!!" Manny yelled.
"Not today!" Olivia shouted ducking, pulling Manny down with her.
Michael tripped right over their bodies, which gave them time to run the other way. "We need to find a note!" Olivia said, still dragging Manny along.
"But I thought we needed to find an item." Manny said calming just a bit.
"Trust me. The game has changed." She replied.
"O-ok..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~They turned corners and crawled under low walls. Olivia knew they were close, just not HOW close. Suddenly Manny stopped. "Hey I think I found something!"
He unhooked his hand from hers and ran to a piece of paper on the ground. It was a little worn and covered in a strange liquid. "Ew....quick what does it say?" Olivia said, looking from side to side, making sure Michael was nowhere.
Manny strained his eyes and read. "This is the story of Michael, the ugliest boy in town. Ugly and weak, they called him a freak, so he lived on his own underground. He lived on his own underground. He lived on his own underground...... I know this song...." Manny said.
"What does it mean??"
Manny hummed the song over in his head. Trying to dissect the words. Then it came to him. "Oh!"
"What? What is it?!"
"The song isn't finished. Michael never found his special one!" Manny said.
"So what? Are we suppose to make up the ending lyrics?"
Manny hesitated. "I think so..."
