A/N: Hello people! Excuse the rant at the bottom...
Sarah walked into work the following Monday; the smile plastered across her face rivalled the Cheshire Cat's. Her post-coital bliss had lasted throughout the whole of Saturday, through to when she took Abby to Georgia's for their joint birthday party, through Sunday when she took her children to Mass, and into that Monday morning. Nothing could shift the blanket of bliss she'd been wrapped tightly in since she was made to come so desperately by her lover - it felt fluffy and warm, and it was an unfamiliar, but wonderful sensation. She loved it.
This newfound happiness didn't go unnoticed. Sarah was trapped in her own little world, rewinding the events of Friday night in her mind, a short spark of electricity coursing its way through her body at each memory; she didn't notice Caroline Parris enter her office (as the Deputy Head of English, she got a separate office, along with the Head, away from the other teachers) and begin staring at her with equal looks of confusion and intrigue.
"You look like you're about to start c****ing bloody rainbows Sarah," she started after trying to subtly garner Sarah's attention for several minutes "Finally got over the ex? Methinks someone got laid over the weekend - I take it you haven't finished the Year 11 grade projections yet? Too busy enjoying yourself..." Caroline stopped when she saw she'd caught the attention of her colleague.
"Oh contraire," Sarah said, handing a file to Caroline "All done - my marking's up to date as well, and I've completed that report for the exam board."
Still the smile refused to shift from her face, which only caused Caroline to probe deeper "Wow, all that, and you still managed to look after your children and fit in a good f**k? Definite contender for Mother of the Year over here! Come on, you can't hide it from me, what was he like? Just a one night, or something slightly more serious?"
Finally, Sarah bowed to the pressure, and said "Yes, ok, I may have engaged in certain x-rated activities over the weekend - I'm not telling you who. And I'm not sure yet, although I'm certain it’s not a one-night type of thing." She finished with a sigh. Sarah knew it was far too dangerous to tell someone about what she and Abby were doing - especially another teacher.
"Well, that's disappointing, Sarah" Caroline continued to probe "Someone I know then? Oooh, is it that new RE teacher, Mr Hale? He's gorgeous, and he keeps making conversation with you over nothing - definite contender...I suppose it doesn't matter, so long as you're not shagging a 6th Former!" she finished jokingly, but the comment caused Sarah to tense slightly - thankfully, Caroline doesn't notice. The joke, despite its innocent intention, suddenly reminded Sarah of the danger of her & Abby's relationship; being with her was worse than sleeping with a 6th Former, and she knew she'd be struck off in a moment if anyone ever found out.
As the bell rang, signalling the start of morning registration, Sarah grabbed her rucksack and made her way out of her office, shaking slightly as she made her way to her form room; what would happen if someone found out? What would happen to her children? Her mind kept flashing all kinds of scenarios, none of which ended well. Would she be placed on the sex offenders register? "I'm 32, for heaven's sake," she thought. "I'm far too young for this..."
Sighing, she shook her head. She wasn't going to let something as trivial as age affect the positives of her budding relationship. That could wait for another time - couldn't it?
A/N 2: So yeah...was gonna put some drama in, but was sat in Maths the other day (definitely not procrastinating ;) and realised exactly how many mortifying events had occurred in English alone, never mind other subjects. Seriously, I made a list, and I filled a page of things that just "had to go in the story!"...so I've put it off for a bit. But do you want fluff or drama? As you may have guessed, I'm a sucker for the fluff, but if I'm alone then there's no point in me writing it! Comments please!!!
So yeah, and nearly 100 reads *pulls out party popper* - not an achievement for some, but I'm thrilled so thank you *invisible cookies for all* Till next time :D
