Olivia soon found herself watching her first ever Quidditch match.
Gryffindor were playing against Slytherin house - she didn't quite know what everybody's name or position they played was, but she recognised them from the Common Room and their shared Potions lessons.
Quidditch was quite interesting, actually. Olivia had been able to fly one of the ragged old School Broomsticks with ease - it was quite natural for her. Angelina, Alicia and Annabel had been flying their whole lives, so they knew what they were doing, but the feeling was new to Olivia, and it was very fun.
Angelina, Alicia, Annabel and Olivia had decided that they would all try out for the Quidditch team next year - after the three pure-blooded girls had had the chance to teach Olivia how to play, of course.
The match was very interesting - and by the end, Olivia felt as though she knew most of the basic rules.
Oliver Wood was a third year that Olivia recognised from the common room, and he played keeper. He only let three goals in, and, seeing the rate at which the Slytherin chasers threw the quaffle towards the three tall hoops, it was rather impressive.
Charlie Weasley was Team Captain, and also seeker. He flew straight up above the pitch as soon as Madame Hooch, the flying teacher and referee, blew the whistle to start the game. He had his hands inches from the Golden Snitch, when his wrist was hit by a bludger. So, the Slytherins won the game, and Charlie had to go and see Madame Pomfrey, who was able to easily fix the bones immediately.
✨✨✨
Halloween came and went, and after a feast in the Great Hall, which had been decorated with floating pumpkins and live bats, Olivia couldn't take the whole Fred and George not talking to her properly thing any more.
The most communication she'd had with them was her effort - when she said, 'Hi,' to them in the halls, and they looked at her as if to acknowledge her existance, but they didn't actually say anything to her.
They would usually hang out with Lee, who would always shoot Olivia apologetic looks whenever this happened.
Lee liked Olivia, so she often tried to ask him how they were, and he always said the exact same thing to her.
'Just the same as before.'
At dinner, Fred, George and Lee Jordan had sat as far from Olivia as possible - but, slightly luckily for them Bill had had enough of it, too, because he often hung out with Olivia and her friends, too, and Fred and George were annoyed at him for it.
So, he spoke to them.
'Apparently, something happened at the end of the summer, just before we left to go to Kings Cross.' Bill said. They were sitting in the seats by the fire in the common room - it was about two A.M.
Olivia thought back to those moments at The Burrow - when she had been flipping around in the garden.
Fred had come out - and there had been something.
She remembered when they had been edging towards each other, and they had only stood inches apart...
'Olivia...' Olivia snapped back to reality at the sound of Alicia's voice. She had been staring into the fire, remembering that moment.
'Sorry,' she muttered. 'Carry on.'
'Well, apparently, to them, it seems as though you wanted nothing to do with them, ever since that train journey.'
'But that's not true.'
'Go see him now.' Angelina suggested.
'Yeah, those three never sleep.' Said Alicia.
When Olivia didn't move, Annabel pulled her out of the chair and shoved her gently towards the stairs that lead up to the boys dorms.
She walked carefully up the stairs, and quickly saw the room where Fred, George and Lee slept. She could hear them talking inside - they were awake.
Olivia was about to knock on the door - but then stopped, her knuckles inches away from the door, as she heard her name.
'Just talk to Olivia!' She recognised Lee Jordan's voice.
'Why?' Said Fred.
'Its been two months!' George exclaimed.
'So?' Fred replied stubbornly.
'Go ask her out,' Said Lee.
'It's two A.M.'
'Ask her out later!' George moaned.
'She won't say yes.'
'She won't say no,' Lee contradicted him.
'Yes, she will.'
'How do you know that?' George chimed in.
'Because, she hasn't spoken to me in two months.'
'Actually,' said Lee, 'Its more like you haven't spoken to her.'
'Whats that supposed to mean?'
'It means, that she wants to talk to you, but you won't talk to her. She says hi to you, and you walk past.'
'Why?' George asked. 'You like her, but you won't talk to her at all. When she met us, she ended up spending three months with us!'
'And then, she gets on the train, and ditches us.'
'That red-head just dragged her away.'
'Well, she decide to hang out with those other three girls over us.'
'You sort of didn't give her a choice,' Lee told him.
'And how's that?'
'You just plain wouldn't talk to her, so she moved on.' George said, as if it really were as simple as that.
There was silence for a moment.
'You should ask her out.' Lee finally said.
'She will say no, and then there will be no chance of us being friends. Besides, we are only young, I don't need a girlfriend!'
'It'll be a cute little relationship.'
'Young love.' Olivia could hear the smile behind George's voice, and she felt her own lips curl up.
'If she says no...'
Realisation hit Olivia, George and Lee.
If Olivia said no, then that rejection would mean the end of their friendship.
'Just be her friend.' Said Lee. Behind the door, Fred nodded, but Olivia couldn't see this, so she didn't know what was going to happen.
She turned and went back down into the common room, where Bill, Alicia, Angelina and Annabel were waiting to hear the details.
Olivia just shook her head, and went up to their dormitory.
