"When the right one comes.. the search is over."

The wedding started smoothly.
The priest was nice and he gave us some nice homilie about marriage and there was no disaster, when it was time to give our vows I cringed and tensed.  I am so not prepared.

Good thing is that Dillon had to go first, he boyishly bit his lower lip and gave me a sheepish smile. He wasn't prepared too.

"When they say opposites do attract, my first thought was it wasn't possible. You cant be attracted to someone who you don't want to be, someone with the characteristics you don't want to possess. I grew up wanting to have the same love I saw with my parents but I didn't know it was all a lie, and when they broke up, all my life philosophy  crumbled and I was left with so many questions and a broken family. I started to not believe in love and finding someone who will be the perfect woman for me.. but it all changed when I met you.." Dillon pauses and watches me. I smile at him.

"You literally blow my mind, you made me angry and happy at the same time. You made me laugh and you made me wanna cry out of frustration. We had our share of fights and misunderstanding. You hated me and cursed me and condemned me. But you didn't give up on me. Your giggle   became music to my ears, your puns and your jokes made my day. And now you will become my wife and I've never felt more lucky and happy. Thank you Vernice for giving me your heart. Thank you for being here. Starting today, we are one and together." I had tears brim at my eyes. He said it with so much passion and sincerity.

"Uh.. Oh my.. I told you I'm not prepared and I forgot to Google so we settled with saying what comes to our minds or whatever.." everyone laughs. I met Dillon's eyes and breathed deeply.

"I grew up thinking about fairytales, happy ever after and prince charming and wishing that one day I'd get to experience it all just like those Disney princesses we love to watch. But when problems came, I lost my confidence and I  grew up. I grew up to believe in reality rather than believing in dreams coming true. One day I had the biggest proposition no other girl would have turned down. But I did, I ran because I was afraid.. that's what I always do. But you didn't give up and for once in my life, I decided to face it and then it lead me to you. You said you need me but the truth is I needed you more. And you didn't fail me, I became your Cinderella and you became my prince charming. You gave me my fairytale.. were still a long way to happy ever after but with you.. I know we'll make it. Because we are the perfect opposite match. You're my now and my tomorrow and my forever."

Everyone was in tears now and Dillon's smile only widens and he squeezes my hand. The priest then proceeded with the giving of rings. I giggled remembering the rings we bought. We said the I do's and then the priest blessed us.

"You may kiss your bride." The priest said.

"Gladly.." Dillon says as his hands cupped my face and pulls me to him. His soft lips met mine in a sweet kiss. I pulled away from him and pulled him into a hug, laughing.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. And Mrs. Dillon Mathews!" Everyone claps they're hands, other gave wolf whistle. I saw my mom crying happily and my sister too. Such cry babies. Dillon suddenly carried me bridal style of course. I look at him smiling gidily while he smiles back at me then we ran out of the church.

We had some pictures before we went into the reception. I also changed from my wedding gown to a floor length white ball gown. Everyone had their words and toast..  My family cant be more hilarious than now. My Mom crying and my dad consoling her. My sister getting drunk and talking about my secrets.. I have to shut her up so I did what any sensible sister do.. I placed a whole cupcake at her mouth and that shut her up. Then my little brothers are taking the wedding videos and don't ask me why, I dont know why too. My older brother Vince is with his girlfriend and he gave a a thumbs up, I know what he meant. I winked at him. Tossing the boque can't be anymore fun than what I had, girls have to literally fight over it once I threw it. But I made sure Trisha, my brothers girlfriend will have it.
