Chapter 2: Old friends

Towards the end of the song Carter stays kneeled on the floor looking down as pauses refecting back to when her mother teaches her the dance.

flashback:

YCarter (6): "no! no no!!" says the little girl as she sits down annoyed.

Anne: Carter dont be hard on yourself

YCarter: I cant do it....ill never be as good as you.

Anne: As she picks up her daughter to a stand kneeling to look at her. "Carter Nicole Speer dancing is in your blood and your million times better than I ever was at you age. But I dont want you doing this if your going to be this frustrated."

YCarter: I just want to be..like..you

Anne: As she stands up playing the song once again dancing to get Carter to join in. As the two finish the song dancing.

Anne: "Carter seee your amazing"

YCarter: I have an amazing teacher

As they hug it ends the flash back as Carter picks herself up finishing the dance

Taylor: (Carters long time friend,Taylor Lauctner) He has been watching Carter dance through the class door of the studio as he walks into the room joining Carters dance behind her.

As Carter is finishing her dance she turning around as she sees Taylor though she wasnt paying attention then she twist back fast.

Carter: She jumps back. "Whoa! Taylor what are you doing here?"

Taylor: "What no hug for your bestie?"

Carter: She walks to him hugging him. "I mean we just saw each other at graduation...but i..i thought you were...going to Flordia State?"

Taylor: "And I thought you were going to New York?"

Carter: "you knew it was because of my grades..how did you know I was here?"

Taylor: "your sister"

Carter: "I havent talked to Hann--"

Taylor: "I mean Alex"

Carter: "right.. but i didnt tell her..just said out"

Taylor: "yea and she said you have been acting srange and spacing out. and I thought Carter spacing out yep shes dancing."

Carter: "Oh you know me so well."

Taylor: "and thinking of your mother because that was her song."

Carter: Looking at her friend for several minutes. "Am I really that predictable?"

Taylor: "Nah just to me...and well.."

Carter: Looking at her friend hugging him. "her"

Taylor: "hey come on lets go to the arcade"

Carter: "you sure? shouldnt i go ch--"

Taylor: "your perfect come on" as he pulls Carter away taking her to the Arcade.

Carter and Taylor go back to how they always have been laughing and playing games teasing around.

Taylor: "I was totally ripped off there that was my game."

Carter: pushing Taylor lightly laughing. "no way that was clearly my game"

Taylor: "yea oook"

Carter: smiling at taylor

Taylor: "hey there is that famous Carter smile" as he laughs.

Carter: Covering her mouth up pushing him. "SHUT UP!"

Girl walks past them turning looking at them saying "hey couple no pda, go get a room for all that" as she turns back walking away.

Carter: "HEY! we are friends joking around. DAMN! ...why every time people when boy and girl  laughing together they asume their dating or they like each other. He is my best friend and i love him but doesnt mean were dating!"

Taylor: Looking at Carter then looking around. "umm yea people...dont assume. Carter we better go."

Back at Alex's and Carters aparment Alex is cuddling on the couch watching "Safe Haven" with her boyfriend Mitchel.

Mitch: he pulls Alex close to him kissing her neck. "I am so glad you decided to stay her in Cali and get your own place."

Alex: As she turns looking at him. "Me to." As she leans and kissing him as they begin making out

As they making out Carter and Taylor walk into the apartment.

Carter: "WHOA!! hey you two we dont need any additions right now."

Alex: pulling away fast. "shut up Carter. its called just making out and he is my boyfriend for two years now."

Carter: "yea but i sit on that couch so..how about next time you suck face in your ROOM"

Alex: "nah.." turning back kissing mitchel passiontley

Carter: "im gonna puke"

Alex: "So Taylor I see you found her."

Taylor: "yea dance studio as always. but we went playing some games."

Carter: "well i guess their taking over the living room, come on Tay" As she pulls him to the room.

Taylor: "So are you and Cody still?"

Carter: "Euh.." she saids low as she lays on her bed.

Taylor: sitting on her bed. "what did he do."

....

Mitch: "are they dating now?"

Alex: "no..I dont think so..shes..shes with Cody I think."

....

Carter: "I dont know whats going to happen he went off to school you know"

Taylor: "yall havent talked about it."

Carter: " a little but then he had to go off... I guess when he comes into town." she says turning on the tv trying to change the subject.

Taylor: "Car.. what did he do?? "

Carter just looks at the tv then at taylor...
